What do you miss from your childhood?

Little things you don't see anymore...

I miss those plastic tags that used to be at the top of bread/plastic bags! Silly plastic sticky tape... :(

Taking childhood as being up to 16;

=======================

Filbert street atmosphere and being passed over the fans' heads to the front.

Davie Gibson.

Cadging a lift on the steam train that ran from the caravan where I lived to Ratby station.

Spending sixpence in the sweet shop - you could buy so much!

The smell of embrocation rub in the changing room before a match.

Scoring hat-tricks and hitting sixes.

A girl from Desford called Susan Carlton - I should have asked her out. :D

My junior school, Holmfield Primary, I loved it.

Cycling to senior shool - it was a 14-mile round trip and helped keep me fit.

Playing British Bulldog.

Training with City on the Filbert Street car park Tuesdays and Thursdays. George Dewis was in charge.

Hitch-hiking. I went all over the country but no-one in their right mind would do it today.

Impromptu football matches on the rec. They were massive. And playing football in the street.

Playing cigarette card games for spoils, like sweet cigarettes and love hearts!

Birds nesting - not that I took the eggs, I just knew what all the birds were and where they had their nests at one time. I'd walk the fields for miles. Most of the fields have gone now.

Stockings, suspenders and mini skirts.

An odd childhood - but there's nothing stopping you from continuing to wear them now. :thumbup:

Not sure I could find a mini-skirt with a waist the size of mine. :P:D

Playing football after school with jumpers as goal posts. The teams were all pre-planned and picked during the classes so everybody knew who they were with. Run home, drop the school bag, a quick sandwich (otherwise nothing) and out playing ball in the car park.

Standing on my pushbike to climb over the wall to watch the Speedway, sneaking into the Abbey Park Show, jumping off the bridge in the middle of Abbey Park. Nicking from Paddy Swags shop down `Charny St` Sledging down the hill on Spinney Hill Park on an old car bonnet, being able to outrun every Copper from Ashfordby Street police station. ;0) :rolleyes:

Walking into the "real" kop and actually being excited.

If homoerotica is your thing then there's plenty of other outlets :thumbup:

Try wearing mansize miniskirts ;)
