I went for a dawn walk yesterday and this was probably my fave out the bunch. I also came face to face with a Tawny Owl but I just stood and watched instead of taking a photo, bit annoyed as I'll probably not get that chance again.

A quick question for Mikey or indeed anyone else who knows their photography.

When I was on holiday last week took some photos on Sheringham seafront and whilst all the verticals seem to be perfectly at 90 degrees, the horizon seems slightly skewed. Is this a trick of the eye or is the horizon not perfectly horizontal (dammit it should be, it's in the name!), especially when it's perfectly flat, like at sea.

Admittedly in one or two photos the horizontal AND the vertical are both out and I hold my hand up to them. :P

It can depend on the lens you are using, if it's fairly wide angle say 35mm or 28mm you are going to experience some distortion. To give an exaggerated example using a 10mm fisheye totally distorts the image A little distortion can be fixed in Photoshop, failing that, the use of a standard 50mm lens will help but will limit the the view.

I am selling my SLR camera.

Once again i jumped in at the deep end and it is far too complex for a beginner to use, well for someone who has gone from a kodak disposable anyway! It just isn't getting used & so would prefer it to go to somebody who is going to make full use of it.

It's a Nikon D5100, i bought it around February time & have used it only a handful of times. I think i may still have the receipt somewhere.

It comes with the 18-55mm lense..

Charger & Battery

UV filter

All cabling

A carry case (for everything, not just the camera)

Screen protectors

It is in immaculate condition as it has hardly been used.

If anyone is interested please PM me.

Offers in the region of £400 which i think is reasonable. Im sure someone on here will inform me otherwise!!

Thanks

No filter on my webcam. Just stood it against a coffee cup and tried to hold camera steady. Should have the finished thing Tuesday will take a photo with my phone.

Yeah, nice shot.

I tried to get some sunset shots last night but it was just too hazy.

Moments after this the fog rolled in thick. Had to drive back through the Yorkshire Moors in dense fog.
