ThurmastonFox Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Just seen this article on the beeb sport website - what do ya think? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/7804954.stm
Corky Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 I thought he was average, nothing special at all. Scored at Anfield but what else did he do?

Bert Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 I thought he was average, nothing special at all.Scored at Anfield but what else did he do? Scored a few penalties during the games we had penalty shoot outs when we won the Wortho cup!
Corky Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Scored a few penalties during the games we had penalty shoot outs when we won the Wortho cup! Actually, as I just finished typing my first post, I remembered him scoring penalties in the shoot-outs I think he was like Arnar Gunlaugsson, promised quite a lot but never really delivered.

davieG Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Average, over weight, expecting with out putting in what was needed to succeed - well that's my lasting impression of him.
Corky Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Average, over weight, expecting with out putting in what was needed to succeed - well that's my lasting impression of him. I supposed we judged him against MON's other signings- Muzzy, Lennon, Guppy, Cottee etc, and Fenton wasn't as productive as those.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He was absolutely terrible for us. I remember him scoring a goal for Blackburn against Newcastle and people thought he would be a great young player. He is one of my least favourite Leicester players of all time.
Jon the Hat Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 If i remember there were stories abut him having a major row with MON and throwing a cup of something over him. So that probably did for him. Why he was here so long I don't know.

Why he was here so long I don't know. I think that was Gary Parker. I seem to remember Fenton scoring a really important goal for us once, might have been in the league cup, but apart from that a real let down.

That the game that he banged in two goals in the last 5 minutes to ruin Newcastle's title hopes? He was a complete non-event on the pitch for me and my only real memories are of him are wondering why he was in the starting line up on FIFA 97
Flynny Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He's one of those names I only remember being said in Neville Foulger's voice on the radio. Having said that its a name that sits quite prominantly in my memory for some reason.
ASH17LCFC Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 I was there when he scored at Chesterfield in the league cup years ago. Also scored at Anfield but all i really remember him for is being a crap MON signing.
Fox in a Box Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He along with Frank Sinclair always on the sauce!...too many pints and a bit lardy. Not a shame he went.
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He didn't do a lot. But then he wasn't a first team player, more of a backup player. When he did play, he didn't pull up many trees. I seem to remember him being too small to play up front, and then he didn't seem to have a proper position. Arnar Gunlaugsson was a better player. He wasn't great either but he did have flashes of brilliance.
The People's Hero Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He was absolutely terrible for us. I remember him scoring a goal for Blackburn against Newcastle and people thought he would be a great young player. He is one of my least favourite Leicester players of all time. Agree with this. I thought he was absolutely abysmal.
Corky Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Agree with this. I thought he was absolutely abysmal. Didn't he block a goal-bound Spencer Prior shot once?
The People's Hero Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Didn't he block a goal-bound Spencer Prior shot once? Bastard.
bluebeau Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 If i remember there were stories abut him having a major row with MON and throwing a cup of something over him. So that probably did for him. Why he was here so long I don't know. Cos no bugger was daft enough to buy him from city, that's why he was here as long as he was. IMO he was probably the worst signing that O'God made & I don't know what he ever saw in him, I can't remember him ever having even a half-decent game for city, lazy overweight idle sod! Not surprised it was a bad 3 years for him, he was a crap player amongst a fantastic squad of players.
FilboFox Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Fringe player at best... never was good enough or hard-working enough to challenge for a place in a solid team when he was here... not at all fussed by him saying he was unhappy here. He was only unhappy cause O'Neill wasn't letting him get into the squad and fair play to him as Fenton just didn't cut the mustard!
