Already with 3 games for the bulgarian national team... Lazio are also interested in him but the more likely scenario for him is a move to Walkers Stadium.

Webbo Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Wiki Ivanov is an ex-PFC Pirin 1922 player. He moved to PFC CSKA Sofia in 2005. He is Bulgarian under 21 player. As a player of PFC CSKA Sofia he was a Bulgarian Cup winner in 2006 and Bulgarian Super Cup winner of the same year. Ivan Ivanov is considered as one of the big Bulgarian football talents. In August 2007 he went on loan to Lokomotiv Plovdiv. In winter 2008 it was reported in the Bulgaria media that he was a target for English side Derby County F.C.. Now Ivanov is again playing with PFC CSKA Sofia. He was in the starting line-up vs. Litex Lovech in the match for the Supercup of Bulgaria, which they won with 1:0. On 19 September 2008 Ivanov scored his first goal for CSKA against Minyor Pernik. He headed in a goal after a corner kick in the 67th minute. The result of the match was a 2:0 win for CSKA. Ivanov is currently attracting interest from League One side Leicester City and Serie "A" club Lazio. Not sure if I believe this, sounds a bit of a made up name.

Jonezy Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 An all Bulgarian CB pairing... I love the idea. Can't see us compete with Lazio though, and people at CSKA must by now have figured that League One is not the top league.
Bryn Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 There's a huge appeal in England though... don't forget the Championship is more lucrative and/or more watched than Serie A (according to statistics from a year or two ago... it might not be both those things, its one or the other I forget which) and that's likely to be where we are next season, so it's a good lauching pad for a career in the EPL. Italian football is on its arse right now. I wouldn't expect either this player or Tunchev to be here for that long, it's all stepping stones.

Why on earth would someone choose Leicester over Lazio!?! i cant for the life of me think we were the only club interested in Tunchev when he signed for us... But one thing MM has never been afraid to do is pay money to Agents and i think the agents talk up the deal that will get them the most money..

He was gonna gladly stay in the team but then CSKA got all these financial problems which made them look into cutting some wages(hence why letting Tunchev go) so suddenly from unwanted youngers, he ended up being first team regular.If he gets the chance though,Im sure he would gladly sign for Leicester City and I hope this rumour gets to materialise.
