Daggers Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 I'd like to see our fans put his name into a chant. He's too big to be called a bender No one ****s with Akinfenwa
Finnegan Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Poor Maxi Gradel's the size of his nose, We hope he don't sign 'cos his goal average blows, Aaaakinfeeeenwaaaa.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 I'd like to see our fans put his name into a chant. We could nick the Cobblers chant (based on his nickname of Bayo): "Boom boom boom, let me here you say Bayo - BAYO!"
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 somthing intresting mentioned a few posts back... Has Nigel Pearson actually made a bad signing yet? Adams? Dickov? Arman Verma?
Ashley Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Adams? Dickov? Arman Verma? I dont think you can class Verma as a bad signing, can you really? Have you seen him play?
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 I don't want to push the cause too much for Akinfenwa over Howard...there are various opinions given on this board..but the above rankle..How the jack fcuk do you know Akinfenwa is nothing special? You've seen (if you were at the Walkers that day) Bayo once I'd wager. Howard did erm..play for for the Cobblers! And wasn't Akinfenwa the man of the match against Bolton earlier this season? We should give him a signing on fee just for pissing off Smegson.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 I dont think you can class Verma as a bad signing, can you really? Have you seen him play? No. I was only half serious - just put the name out there for debate really. Although not having seen someone play does not necessarily mean he can't be marked down as a bad signing (I give you Jimmy Neilsen).
Samilktray Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Why? Because he's amply proportioned and of a darker skin hue? Your damn right.
Alf Bentley Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 I'd like to see our fans put his name into a chant. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f78bKXzALXo "I'm going back to...Blue Bayo!" We could even get Linda Ronstadt to sing it on the pitch before the match (don't know what Governor Jerry Brown would make of it, though, expect his aura would smile but never frown...quick Dead Kennedies reference for you, there...)
J.Lisemore Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 I don't want to push the cause too much for Akinfenwa over Howard...there are various opinions given on this board..but the above rankle..How the jack fcuk do you know Akinfenwa is nothing special? You've seen (if you were at the Walkers that day) Bayo once I'd wager. Howard did erm..play for for the Cobblers! Well put it this way if he was something special he wouldn't still be in this league. He looked average when he came down here.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Well, we seemed to miss Big Steve last night. Akinfenwa scored having made two on Saturday (three if you count the pass that led to a penalty). Is he our ready-made replacement? It would make Saturday pretty tasty, given his hero status at the Cobblers.
Corky Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 We need a decent back-up striker- Dickov just isn't up to it anymore.
knowitall Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 ADEBAYO AKINFENWA. Has bad knees and trains all week on his upper body. He then fully trains on the Friday and if he gets no bad reaction from knees Northampton play him on the Saturday. Do Leicester want a player like this. Also the price being banded about is £100, 000

MPH Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 thats probably more than just a rhetorical question... i'd wager its actually what the club are trying to decide...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Interesting that knowitall would know that about Akinfenwa because they don't seem like a hugely knowledgeable football person outside of LCFC dealings to me (may be doing a disservice, if so apologies) so presumably they'll know this from inside the club which lends some weight to it. I think it'd be hilarious personally. They rely on Akinfenwa.
coolcat Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Well put it this way if he was something special he wouldn't still be in this league. He looked average when he came down here. Mr.J.Beckford?
Shroomjuice Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 Have been playing poker with Liam Miller (CB) and Mark Hughes (captian) of northampton town tonight at Gala Sol central!!! This is all speculation. They were all out for dinner on Monday night and when asked about Leicester Ade replied "all rumour no contact". Have also been told he is an awfull trainer and not well liked in the camp. If anyone wants tickets for the match I am getting 8 but only in the home end im afraid.

Shroomjuice Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 Sorry tried to edit post, Liam also stated that the club would accept no less than 500k for him.
