It's like me sitting watching city and for example one of the black players, wore a white balaclava to keep warm, and I just come out with, that so and so looks like a right divvy honky tonk!! It maybe a joke, but there was no need to use that word!!!

Honestly Singhy, if you sat next to me and said that, I'd laugh out loud.

If you said about Levi Porter, I'd probably agree with you ;)

That's cus you know me Thracian, if it were people that didn't I would be lynched and called a racist!! that's one of my points, because of past mistermeaners by some of society, everyone is suspicious of what everyone does, there's no faith in humankind, and unfortunately many of those people that make such remarks are racist!!! And in this case, the women is in the public domain, such remarks should not really be said in public as to give a bad example and to substantiate those racists that have such feelings!!

Well the sooner we can all get to the stage when we can laugh at ourselves, tease one another and know it's all done in genuine friendship the better.

Likewise. I really do feel the need to reiterate I'm normally the first person to stand up, swear my tits off and tell PC to go hang.

This, however, was just offensive.

Whether she meant it or not your right. OFFENSIVE, but not DELIBERATLY OFFENSIVE. She therefore should have been corrected and warned on her future use of the term and the world moves on. As for all the other arguements in this threads peoples minds aren't going to be changed and we seem to be going round in circles.

His salary wasn't intact - it was withheld for THREE MONTHS.

There's more than a tinge of misogyny about this incident, though. I very much doubt Moyles or Clarkson would have faced discipline for such a comment.

Right on cue, Clarkson acts a twat (AGAIN!) on tour in Oz

Clarkson is scum, a modern-day version of Bernard Manning. It's fair enough to criticise the PM, though protocol normally states this should not be done from abroad.

But bringing Brown's nationality and disability into it is way out of order.

If the management of the beeb had a pair between them, they'd have a P45 waiting for him when he returns.

But they won't. He's part of the public school mafia, and therefore untouchable. :@:@:@

I think Clarkson said something along the lines of Brown is

a) One eyed

b) Scottish

c) A liar

d) An idiot

The only point up for debate is d).

The rest are fact.

It was a typical Clarkson comment and should be viewed as just that. He could have called Gordon Brown a lot worse than that. I do!

With Brown being the bloke who ignored expert advice and sold half the nation's gold at rock bottom prices, only to see it subsequently treble in value, I'd say Clarkson could defend poiint (d). :D

It's fair to compare Clarkson with Manning. Non-stop entertainment, the pair of them.

When I heard this, I was pretty sure she was talking about Serena Williams who, at the time of the event, had just won the Australian Open and so it could have been very possible that she was talking about her... so I'm glad she's been given the boot as Serena is my favourite tennis player ever! :D

He is just not funny though. I could go to my local pub and hear the same 'witty' remarks. It's a shame that arrogance, childishness, vulgarity and ignorance has replaced real comedy and personality.

:dunno:

Jezza's clearly pretty right wing - but to compare him to Bernard Manning is just extreme. Manning was an unfunny, abusive, horrible man - Clarkson's just a bit of a tool.

If you can go to the pub and find people who've had this sort of impact in their lives then go ahead:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Clarkson

He may be arrogant and opinionated but he lives life to the full, speaks his mind, has a refreshingly amusing turn of phrase, and, as presenter of Top Gear, has made an easily boring subject entertaining.

Arrogance exists aplenty in the world of celebrity, I'll defend a bit of childishness against boorish orthodoxy anytime, Jethro is bloody vulgar but he does make me laugh and if "ignorance" is to be used as the key to a career lockout then it will be a quiet and lonely meeting indeed next time the Cabinet meets.

Clarkson receives apology from Brown.

PM Gordon Brown today said he was sorry after calling TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson "a tall annoying adoloescent geek, with a mental age of 14", and "someone who thinks cars are exciting, and hanging around lots of other adolescent male geeks is exciting - which he obviously does." He had also said "My nephew is at primary school, and he has more life experience than that inbred, annoying, overpaid git Clarkson."

"I'm so tewwibly, tewwibly sorry', the Scot apologised to the Top Bore presenter, "for suggesting that an overgrown English schoolboy with about as much charisma as a cold cheese sandwich should be offended by my remarks. I can only hope that Master Clarkson can forgive me, please, please, oh please forgive me, Your Waste of Licence Feed One", before bursting into tears at his shame for insulting such a widely-admired figure.

But Clarkson himself was uninterested at Mr Brown's remarks. "I live in the real adult world", he said, "with a real job, don't bother me right now. Go and find some media luvvie who gushes away at press conferences like a drama queen, I have a programme to run."

Mr Brown was seen playing with his Scalextric set in the garden at number 10 Downing Street.
