CosbehFox Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 I think that has been true of some years, and the second group stage was certainly a nadir of UEFA prioritizing money over sporting competition, but is it really true of this season? The following teams are all heading into the final fixture with the possibility of being eliminated.. Juventus, Bayern, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona. Liverpool and Athletico have already been eliminated. Unirea Urziceni, Rubin kazan, Dyamo Kiev and Wolfsbrg all have the chance to go through. It's hardly been a tale of the unhindered progress of the traditional European power houses. All four of those highlighted are champions of their country which is the way it should be really. Athletico have never been a club with European experience either. More to the point, it's been the inclusion of Debrecen etc. which has a spectacle has put a down on it.
MC Prussian Posted 8 December 2009 Posted 8 December 2009 The only good news so far tonight: Zurich leading Milan 1-0 at home.
purpleronnie Posted 8 December 2009 Posted 8 December 2009 Watched some of the Chelsea game, terry had a nightmare, switched over to see ronaldo destroying Marseille.
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Ronaldo = class. Have to be honest when he is on song what a cracking player. Some glum faces in our household today with Juve getting tanked by Bayern.
StanSP Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Ronaldo = class. Have to be honest when he is on song what a cracking player. Some glum faces in our household today with Juve getting tanked by Bayern. Surprised by the thrashing they got to be honest. Thought they would have put up more of a fight (sounds all too familiar from past few days !!) They might meet Liverpool in Europa League though. Not sure who I'd want to win if they do meet.
leicesterfox86 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Everyone see Owen's hat-trick last night? The third one in particular I thought was superb. Really pleased to see him in the goals - he still has something special. Not sure about this claim that he can be the top scorer in the Champions League though. He does have four at the moment though and with the odds as they are it might be worth a go! As for him getting himself back into the England squad on the back of one hat-trick - I doubt it. He needs to perform consistentley well for United in ALL competitions if Capello is going to give him another go.
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 He needs to get a game for United first. Good to see him back amongst the goals though.

MC Prussian Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Stuttgart thrashing Unirea 3-0 so far... All three goals scored within the first eleven minutes of the game. Delighted for the new VfB manager, who is also known to have coached Spurs at one point (quite unsuccessfully, though):

dandannieldanok Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Shame for Arsenal, don't deserve to be behind.
lavrentis Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Shame for Arsenal, don't deserve to be behind. I'd say Olympiacos have just edged it so far. Kerrea's had a good game as well.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Shame for Arsenal, don't deserve to be behind. Ramsey's spraying some quality balls about, shame Walcott and Vela can't control a thing tonight
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I'd say Olympiacos have just edged it so far. Kerrea's had a good game as well. I want him to be shit, get fooked off by Arsenal and come back to us
Koke Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Aaron Ramsey is just phenomenal. A star in the making. The boy got sublime vision. There was a moment where Ramsey passed to Vela where the commentator said "How did Ramsey see that pass, let alone play it". That was my thoughts as well.
Koke Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 And he is not even 19 till Boxing Day. Thought the lad was at least 20, but what do I know, eh.
