GLC Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 The man sadly past away, R.I.P EDIT: trying to find the link
GLC Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 A 75 year old leicester city fan collapsed and died at the walkers stadium on saturday. Emergency services were called to the east stand towards the end of the game against carlisle. The leicester city club doctor, paramedics and st johns ambulance tried to resucitate the man. Despite their efforts, the foxes supporter, thought to be a season ticket holder, died at the scene at about 5:20pm. Supporters chairman Cliff Ginnetta said it's really sad. It must be terrible for the family and it really puts things in perspective. He will be sadly missed by the football club. From the Mercury R.I.P
Alexikokopops Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Terrible stuff. My thoughts go out to all concerned.
Unabomber Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 I think we should have a minutes silence, it shows more respect. I am confident no Leeds fan will be sick enough to mess it up. Awful news again though. I don't think a minutes applause is really appropriate when the person isn't known by the public, I think a minutes silence when respected shows alot more respect. RIP

You obviously don't know Leeds United then. Most of the majourity would probably stay quiet, but i would be very suprised if Leeds didn't bring any idiots with them on Monday.
Daggers Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Poor lad. I'm minded of the wife of a bloke who died from a dicky ticker when laughing at a Morecambe & Wise show, she wrote to them to express her gratitude that at least he passed away enjoying something he loved. It just goes to show that life is very tenuous - it's there for the grasping so wring every drop of fun from it while you can, there isn't the time for negativity and it's so easy to lose sight of that.

howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 top post :appl: RIP I kinda hope the last thing the poor bloke heard was fryatts goal, and ultimately thought we had won the match, Can't even begin to comprehend the fact that you might set off to see a game and not make it home,
funkyfox1884 Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 This is so sad, my thoughts are with his family and friends. My heart also goes out to the St John's people who were there, they are volunteers after all and it's a terrible thing to see someone die but to try to save them and be unsuccessful must be truly horrendous and something you will never forget. I am a first aider at work and although I've had to deal with some horrible injuries, I have never had to deal with such a serious emergency and I hope I never will. RIP

maddog Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Not really a fan of a minutes applause. Much prefer a minutes silence, you can be silent and think then, rather than noise. But suppose some people prefer the new way.
