Plod brutality

No one knew his condition, just that he was in a wheelchair. If he was allowed to remain there he could have posed a risk if he was able-bodied. He (and his pushees) were given orders to move back. They didn't.

Surprise surprise - disabled people can be total cocks too.

No one should be grumpy about this - this is a celebration event where a disabled person gets treated just like an able-bodied one: It's what campaigners have been campaigning for.

Not being funny, but CP isn't exactly inherently undetectable.

And I highly doubt the disabled community are arms up celebrating the honest open-mindedness of the police re: the event.

I get it, you think the guy's a twat - that doesn't mean he deserved that. It was malicious and ridiculously heavy handed.

Spot on.If he wasnt moved im sure that would be classed as discrimination!!.The guy had a history of being a trouble making cock and used his disabled status to cause as much mayem as possible, thinking it was ok because he is in a wheelchair. He is not above the law .The majority of disabled and wheelchair bound people, just want to be treated like an able bodied person. If he held up a bank with a shotgun would we say thats ok pal,you are disabled.no.

He gave it all the bravado letting people know what he did at the conservative HQ,he must be stupid to even think about complaining, after admitting weeks earlier of his involvement.

How disabling was his CP?

It was an epic mission to the top. Nine floors; eighteen flights of stairs. Two friends carried my wheelchair, and I walked. We couldn’t give up now.

I don't know much about this disability but I'm left confused by that statement.

I'm sorry but, no. Don't defend that, really.

However innocent he is, whatever he's done or whatever his political beliefs and whether or not he's broken the law, there's never an excuse to physically drag someone so obviously defenceless out of his wheelchair and across the road like that.

It's not like he's just someone with a dodgy leg or a minor impairment, he's got CP for ****s sakes. He couldn't be less threatening if he tried. He could be the biggest, most pretentious, smarmy, stuck-up student twat on the planet and I wouldn't want to see him be battered about by a policeman.

What about if he's being a pain in the *rse?

In all seriousness, the only way it's justified is if he's in a dangerous situation or him being there is causing danger to others. I don't think that's the case in this circumstance so the police office should be disciplined.

This guy in the wheelchair is a pr*ck. He talks about the police's sole purpose as being to protect a government from the people and to protect the "propertied classes" (because everyone who has the temerity to own a bit of land is clearly the earl of northumberland). He's some idiot who swallowed a marxist revolutionary manual and probably likes to crack one out to his poster of Che Guevara.

I will say this though for the officer, he is one of the few people who has treated a disabled person exactly the same as any abled person. He was completely indiscriminate.

My only comment on this, and the other incidents of violence, is that it proves once again how stupid and naive many of the tories are. After Ian Tomlinson, De Menezes etc one would have thought the lesson that you shouldn’t automatically believe the police version of events, and assume victims of police violence deserved it, would have been learned.

Once again, conservatives prove they don’t care about civil liberties. The party that supported Pinochet is alive and well.

Your point about naivete applies to any new Government - Labour took at least a year to find their feet in 1997/98.

Your point about the Tories not caring about civil liberties is frankly breathtaking given the horror show that Labour have overseen in the last decade. I don't recall you condemning them, but perhaps I just missed those posts. The coalition have still to prove themselves in this area but they are making the right noises.

I think in most cases the people of the country have little sympathy for people who go out to find trouble and then find it. Some sympathy for those who go out to protest and find themselves tarred with the same brush as the idiots next to them, but they are doing little to distance themselves from the the violent fools.

You didnt miss any posts.Blinkered vision.I await the day he even gives credit to at least 1 policy of the tories.Although i voted tory this time i would give credit to an opposing party for a policy and i sway my vote for one reason.what it does for me!

Sorry but no Labour supporter can get smug over this. Blair made endless promises about not hiking uni prices pre-election. 'No Labour government will ever...' he crooned. What did he do? Oh yeah...

Although I felt sorry for the media misrepresentation of Gordon Brown, you won't find me defending Blair, or nine tenths of what New Labour did either. Don't understand why folk keep throwing their record my way. You need to be a bit more original than than that, Jon.

It's all an Al Qaeda plot to see how the cops deal with people in wheelchairs and thus eliminate a possible route of attack.

He's probably not even a real student - I bet he's over on a student visa and is a benefit cheat and has his family of three living in Buckingham palace all paid for by the taxpayer.

OR

It's Panorama sting to stop GB hosting the Paralympics in 2012 even though they already won the bid.

Police are ****s who think they are above the law, but for once, I'm loving their work. I'm glad they dragged that smug **** from out of his wheelchair, he was there looking for trouble and he knows it, he got what was coming to him.

If he had CP and it was that bad, he wouldn't be there trying to "crawl" past police barracades would he. Lying tit.

PS. The lying tit was aimed at the bloke in the wheelchair, not at anybody in this thread.

So people who have seriously bad illness aren't allowed to protest or fight for their rights?

So it's OK for "the ****s who think they're above the law" to batter people you don't like or agree with then?

Yes they are allowed to protest for their rights, but he was clearly trying to storm a building and pushing his way through police personnel.

If the people are causing trouble or trying to storm buildings when they are not allowed to, then yes, kick the crap out of them.

Storm a building? Oh aye no doubt in that rocket-powered armed wheelchair he was comandeering.

In other news, apparently the EDL are set to march in support of the police...

lol lol lol

I find it quite likely that a very angry man in a wheelchair could be intimidating.

However, if you were weraing riot gear and had a number of your Police colleagues with you, you have clearly overreacted if you find yourself dragging said man from his wheelchair.

Thankyou, Tory Jon. :D

Not being funny, but CP isn't exactly inherently undetectable.

And it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for someone able-bodied to impersonate a disabled person in order to gain an advantage over the police.

I think people need to remember that if you are confronted with a frightening image of a lethal wheelchair user everyday, while on patrol in Westminster, you are bound to be unsettled when one comes wheeling towards you.
