Collymore Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Got told by a delivery driver that this was set in stone! Can't see it anywhere on the net though...
billyfox1 Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 If Newcastle go down he'll be linked with just about every club in the premiership
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Considering he played for Liverpool for all those years, I really can't see in.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Considering he played for Liverpool for all those years, I really can't see in. Although he was an Everton fan as a young 'un....
Mickey O'Neil Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 He just needs to retire so he can concentrate on his true love.......horse racing . I don't think he's being far to his current employers (although I don't have a problem with a trip to St. James' next year).
Head Honcho Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Got told by a delivery driver that this was set in stone! Can't see it anywhere on the net though... Delivery drivers are all the rage these days-in fact society is thinking of doing away with newspapers and the internet. Who needs them when we have delivery drivers Why the fvck would Everton want to sign Owen? He's done sod all for Newcastle!
Darkzzz_ Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I don't think they will sign him. But what the fook do I know.

Who needs them when we have delivery drivers Why the fvck would Everton want to sign Owen? He's done sod all for Newcastle! To be fair it was also mentioned on the Guardian Football Weekly Podcast.
welck12 Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Would make sense for him if he did: Close to home Boyhood fan Not to much competition for places (Jo will be sent back to city) European football He'll have plenty of company on the physio table with Saha
Hitesh Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 No way! He will struggle with injuries as usual and get nothing near to the wages he is on at the moment!
Joe. Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I'd love it if he could just steer clear of the injuries for a season. He'd still be a quality signing for a decent Premiership side in my opinion, as long as he can keep away from the treatment table. Much easier said than done for Owen though.
Bryn Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Free transfer + a wage cut represents a reasonable gamble for Everton.
StanSP Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Everton can do better than Owen. True. I'm guessing he'll go to Villa in the summer Also think Villa can do much better too. Owen is past his peak and O'Neill has said he is ready to look overseas for new players anyway.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Will be a good move for him i think. Of course it would, any team in the premier league or a top league in europe willing to sign Owen would be a good move for him, all he's shown in the last year is that he's injury prone.
Matt Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 His leg will fall off in the medical, or some other injury will crop up.
TrickyTrev Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 There will be some club, somewhere, willing to offer Owen wages that match the ability he had as a 21 year old. That club will not be one that is managed by intelligent and sensible managers such as Everton or Villa. If he does go to either of them it will require him making a decision in the name of his career rather than bank balance, which I really can't see happening.
Samilktray Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Everton do Better than Michael Owen? Aston Villa do better than Michael Owen? On a free aswell, yeah I'd love to see who they could get in thats better.
