lou Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 That's cos he can't fooking cross! and some would say Mattock cant defend!
carterfox90 Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 ifwe can get 2 million for him sell sell & get the left back in from MK Dons he looked a class defender & liked to go forward i hope we go for him any way now they are not going up
lestajigs Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 No wonder younger players don't tend to develop that well at leicester and when they do they often leave. Its because of shit leicester fans getting on there back even when there 19 years old. Mattock is young and learning his trade, he may not have had a great season this year but he coped quite fine in the chamionship - proven by our defensive record being one of the best in the football league that year - hence us having offers for him for around 2m from a avriety of premiership clubs. yea to right, dont no what everyones problem on here is!! how many young leicester lads do we have playing for city??? get off his back people
lou Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 yea to right, dont no what everyones problem on here is!! how many young leicester lads do we have playing for city??? get off his back people again, whos been on his back? OK hes young and local so we cant say a bad word against him???
Ozwin Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 He's one for the future, stick with him and he'll come good. He's a local lad too, this is his club, he should be given more of a chance if anything.
Joe. Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 For £2m they can have him. Probably just a random figure plucked out of thin air though to be honest.
lookwhaticando Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Anyone else notice the misspelling of his name in the original post?
Koke Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I'm his biggest critic, but I think he will come good to be honest. Ever since he got national recognition, he became complacent. Pearson doesn't seem to be one who tolerates passengers in a team, so I believe Mattock will get his finger out and start putting in shifts at left back. I say keep him.
Ozwin Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I don't even think he's been that bad, because we've done so well people have spotlighted left back as our 'problem' area because he's made 1 or 2 mistakes. You don't get in the U21s because you're ****, he'll come good, just needs time.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I don't think he's worth £2m but I'm struggling to think of anyone we could potentially replace him with. If I were Pearson and Mandaric I'd say no at this moment in time, especially considering we're not in any desperate need for money.
Lovejoy Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 If Cox is valued at 2m, Wellens 1.5m, N'Guessan around the 1m mark, surely Mattock who is younger and has the potential to get better is worth more than 2m?I know football has no logic however!! joker.

You don't get in the U21s because you're ****, he'll come good, just needs time. The amount of times he got skinned by League 1 wingers was very worrying to be honest. I still think he's a good player, but he got too big for his boots and thought he had already made it - and thus he had a poor season. Check out all the player ratings by us throughout the season, and he constantly featured in the bottom 3.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 If offered anywhere 2mill then get rid. Well overrated. Us City fans seem to have a habit of overrating Leicester-born players like Stearman for example.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Anybody who says sell him is obviously an idiot. He is only young He will improve with experience and he will also develop physically. He has hardly started in the game let alone have reached his peak. His reading of the game will also improve the more he plays. I hope that his improvement is with us because he is going to be one hell of a player. He can pass, tackle and has some pace without being rapid. I think that quite a few Leicester fans in general dislike him because he has a nice car and a tattoo which is pathetically jealous. Same happened with Stearman when he was here and he did ok last season being named in the Championship team of the year. For the lame of understanding on here surely cashing in now would mean losing out later.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 i agree with thisBerner is too slow and powell is getting on now Best not let General Smuts read that!
Legend_in_blue Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 You can't get rid of Mattock without having someone half decent coming in. The obvious replacement in Berner worries me. He worries me because I don't think he's got the physical know-how to mix with it next season. He's too lightweight. As for Mattock, positionally he's suspect at times and no, he can't cross. But he can still improve. I wouldn't look at Berner being a first teamer, possible back-up at most. Maybe we need another LB as well as Mattock (and Berner). Lewington from MK Dons might be a good shout. At full strength we can do well next season but seriously lack alternatives. These 6 players being touted... we don't need 6, I reckon we need at least 10.
Legend_in_blue Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 We can't sell at 2 million. We can't sell at any price. We don't have the cover in our squad and 2 million will not allow for the 2 players needed for the LB position. We need to add to Mattock and Berner. Getting rid of one and bringing another in still leaves us short.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Anybody who says sell him is obviously an idiot. If this is true £2m then sell. See what I mean
Webbo Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Who are all these better LBs than Mattock that we can pick up for a few ££££s. That's what I'd like to know. got to be some out there that can actually defend. In that case why doesn't Keane want to buy them instead?
Jimmy Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 If offered anywhere 2mill then get rid.Well overrated. Us City fans seem to have a habit of overrating Leicester-born players like Stearman for example. born in Wolverhampton and despite several Leicester managers saying he's too skinny to play CB he's just played a vital role in Wolves championship winning side at CENTRE BACK yes he was a poor right back at times, but then again he is actually a CB as for Mattock, we turned down more then that in the past so they can fook off, its a sideways move for him at best, if it was a prem club and the deal included a shit load of add ons then fine but in this case keep him, we have to keep our best young prospects if we are to grow as a club
Jon25747 Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I saw him out last and he said he was staying. However, I dont think he would say if he was anyway! He may not have discussed terms anyway so prob not made any decision yet. But I thought I would add my recent update!
Rocky Dennis Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Get Rid. Lets just quote Keane the same price he quoted us for Fulop
ousefox Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 He is never worth £2m and i'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find a left back better than him for less.
