Simo86 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Never mind Manchester City, Everton and Villa. Notts County will be in the top 4 in a couple of years I hope. Don't think so, unless they skip a division
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Liverpool to sign KyrgiakosI know he'll only end up being back-up, but Kyrgiakos is a right old lump and a pretty poor signing imo. He'll have plenty of trouble against any pace. He was awful at Rangers, why Liverpool have signed him I do not know
Father Ted Posted 21 August 2009 Posted 21 August 2009 Liverpool signing Kyrgiakos He is absolute dog faeces. Slow, tubby and getting on a bit. Oh dear Benitez!
mmarkie Posted 21 August 2009 Posted 21 August 2009 Sol Campbell considering move to Notts County in the mirror btw.
Bryn Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Lescott completes his £24m move. Shocking price. And Wolves get 20% apparently That's £4.8m, an entire player to them most likely.

Tis a lot of money, but when clubs don't want to sell that is what you end up paying. Good work Everton. This will see at least 3 more defenders moving this week.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Biliyaletdinov going to Everton. Great little signing if true.
StanSP Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Biliyaletdinov going to Everton.Great little signing if true. Worth the £10m they're gonna pay?? To be honest I don't know much about him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Worth the £10m they're gonna pay?? To be honest I don't know much about him. Yeah, probably, only in his mid-twenties really, played a good part in Russia's Euro success and is one of Lokomotiv's best players.
Uncle Albert Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Liverpool signing Kyrgiakos He is absolute dog faeces. Slow, tubby and getting on a bit. Oh dear Benitez! Even your very poor Serbian footballing brain can see that this signing is for cover of Agger? Lescott going for £24,000,000 is a joke, if Campbell got his act together and Carragher came out of international retirement then Lescott would be 5ht or 6th choice for England because Matthew Upson deserves to be up there. David Moyed must be laughing now he has gone.

As in sol campbell. :crylaugh: :crylaugh: I dont know if he is but I certainly am at this post.

He's lost an international defender who can play at left back as well as centre back, he isnt getting the full £24 mill to spend, he has only 1 recognised centre back fit and he has only 1 week to sort out replacements for his squad. Yep i bet hes pissing himself laughing

Yeah Sol Campbell who was in the England team only last year. Sol Campbell is a much better centre half than Lescott will ever be. Moron. £24,000,000 is a stupid amount of money for an average defender and David Moyes was always going to sell him and was holding on for a better price, Moyes will be loving it even if he has half of that to spend. I rate Jagielka higher than Lescott.

For a start, they have Carragher and Skrtel as first choice centre-halfs with Agger as cover (or if you want Skrtel as cover and Agger as first choice). You could then give a youngster such as Daniel Ayala who recently proved that he is capable of playing at that level a run out but no, Benitez decided to sign Nils-Eric II. Sami Hyypia was a perfect replacement and in his 10 years at Liverpool never put a step wrong and don't forget our very own future England international Jack Hobbs who I am sure Benitez will be crying over in a couple of years time. So please take your pea-brain and think about what I have just written. I thought that you would understand, being a Liverpool fan and that.

Well dickbrain Daniel Agger is out for 6 weeks after having surgery in his back and Skrtel is out with a jaw problem so Benitez needed to bring in a defender, which he has done. Hyypia wanted to move on and Jack Hobbs had no chance of getting into the starting XI so he moved on.

I personally think lescott is an amazing signing, and that is now clearly the going rate for a top class centre back.

It was silly getting rid of Hyypia and Benitez clearly doesn't care about youth players and would much rather bring in an unproven Spaniard. Please explain then why Kyrgiakos has been signed on a two-year contract with the option of another year.
C-man Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 £24 million makes Lescott the World's third most expensive defender, after Nesta and Ferdinand, and in front of Alves and Thuram. Laughable.

No he wouldnt of been fine, he has no experience and throwing him into the Premier League straight away would of been a mistake. Would Pearson throw Luke O'Neil into a League game? No he wouldnt that's why he signed Mark Edworthy last season. Sami Hyypia wanted to move on, that's why he turned a deal down at Anfield. Because maybe Rafa brought him in as Hyypia's replacement? Someone who can come in as cover when Agger, Skrtel or Carragher does get injured then he can come in for them. And Kyrgiakos could be getting a coaching role out of this transfer.
C-man Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/8218136.stm I heard about this a couple of weeks ago, thought it was a load of bullshit until today. £90k a week apparently. It's a shame because he could still play in the Premiership.
