Bryn Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Negredo's scoring record is actually decent, and Geovanni has been looking hot in preseason... Olifinjana isn't the best midfielder in the world but he's certainly more solid than Ashbee (Who I didn't even rate when they were in League 2, no room for sentimentality in my opinion, they should punt him out and I wouldn't take him here on a free transfer and a pay as you play, I think he's awful), and their defence and keeper aren't the worst.... Hull to survive after all? I reckon there could be three teams worse than them, they have that edge of an extra year's experience over Burnley, and I reckon if they make a bad start they'll jettison that useless willy puller Brown and bring in a decent manager, they're not short of money.
Jimmy Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Sven swoops for Schmeichel Friday, August 14, 2009, 16:30 SVEN-Goran Eriksson has brought keeper Kasper Schmeichel to Notts County in what is almost certain to be a club-record deal from Manchester City. The 22-year-old today signed a five-year deal at Meadow Lane. Notts were refusing to reveal the fee involved, but it is understood to stretch into seven figures – which would eclipse the £640,000 the Magpies paid for Tony Agana in 1991. It was Eriksson that gave the son of former Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel his debut for City in August 2007, just after taking charge of the Premier League club. He played the first seven games of Eriksson's reign at Eastlands, which included a 1-0 win against Manchester United, before being loaned out to Cardiff City and later Coventry City in the 2007/08 campaign. Magpies boss Ian McParland expects Schmeichel to have an immediate impact – but views him as a long-term capture. "It is a great signing for the club, obviously. He is one for now and one for the future," said McParland. "Hopefully he will be here for a long time and become a firm fans' favourite and also help us up the league." Despite having a long-term contract with City, Schmeichel has spent most of the last three seasons on loan at different clubs. He made his professional debut in League Two with Darlington, in January 2006, and he played against Notts at Meadow Lane in May 2006 while on loan at Bury, in a 2-2 draw. He has also enjoyed a loan spell at SPL side Falkirk in his career. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homespor...il/article.html
Budweiser Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 That's quite the signing. Indeed. Good opportunity for the lad.
Fox92 Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Karl Hawley and Lee Hughes uptop for Notts County. Bloody hell. And now they have signed Kasper Schmiecal (cannot spell his last name ) Hopefully they become Championship/Premiership soon.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Clearly going to be one of the best keepers in that league but I don't rate him highly myself, couldn't catch a cross to save his life.
MC Prussian Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Fulham in talks with Newcastle over the signing of Damien Duff for roughly £4m. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ham/8201978.stm
AjcW Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Interestingly newcastles supposed transfer embargo was lifted earlier to allow the singing of Danny Simpson the Man Utd youngster. RB. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_5490183,00.html
Budweiser Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Phil brown just makes me laugh. What's going on with Negredo? If he pulls that deal off I take everything back.
AjcW Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Phil brown just makes me laugh. What's going on with Negredo? If he pulls that deal off I take everything back. 12 million fee agreed. Seems a bit steep. Funny way of doing things madrid have. Sell him, buy him back and sell him without playing a competitive game, seems like the way its done in spain.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 West Brom have just got Shaun Cummings on loan to cover Zuiverloon (or however you spell it) Worst... signing... ever... My left testical can play right back better than Shaun Cummings.
Edmund Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Can't knock Hulls ambition. Hull face stiff competition for Negredo with Real Zaragoza, Roma, Zenit St Petersburg, Villarreal and Stuggart all keen on the 23-year-old who shot to prominence by scoring 35 goals in two years for Spanish side Almeira. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/Brown...-12m.5559377.jp
Toby or not Toby Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Can't knock Hulls ambition.http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/Brown...-12m.5559377.jp Yes, although 12 million on 1 player is alot of money for a team like hull, but if they get him, they might suprise a few people this season i think
Bryn Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 They won't get him, VikingFM reporting that they've been outbid. Don't think they'd have got him anyway in all honesty, they were baulking at Real Madrid's desire for a buyback clause and I think he'd have had his head turned by other, bigger clubs.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/8206042.stm Another very decent signing for Notts County.
AjcW Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/8206042.stmAnother very decent signing for Notts County. Bloody hell, he should be in the championship in my opinion, perhaps the reason why lambert found it so easy to leave if his club are selling their stars to the league bellow.
StanSP Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Blackburn sign Michel Salgado, ex Real Madrid full back http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/8209642.stm
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Arsenal have made a £12million offer for West Ham midfielder Mark Noble. To me Noble is excellent and should of been in the top 4 ages ago, might sign him on football manager. And, Jackson to Notts County is an excellent signing. Should be in the championship and will perhaps tear league 2 to pieces.
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Can't wait til County go above Forest That is going to happen as well in the next coming years. Never mind Manchester City, Everton and Villa. Notts County will be in the top 4 in a couple of years I hope.
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 West Brom have just got Shaun Cummings on loan to cover Zuiverloon (or however you spell it)Worst... signing... ever... My left testical can play right back better than Shaun Cummings. Yes he was with you last year I think, or was that a transfer on my Football Manager
Samilktray Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 I cant see anything about Arsenal bidding for Noble?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 August 2009 Posted 19 August 2009 Fox92 posts how Sven talks. He will be very good transfer, I think, for you.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Liverpool to sign Kyrgiakos I know he'll only end up being back-up, but Kyrgiakos is a right old lump and a pretty poor signing imo. He'll have plenty of trouble against any pace.
