Forest 2.00pm BBC One http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_1/8124105.stm Don't think we'll be televised too much tbh. Pleased in a way, as kick-off changes really piss me off...

Shame there aren't more games, it's great even a few are back on "normal" tv though. I'm completely bored with the premier league and haven't really watched it for the last two years.

That was an obvious choice!! I would love to see city play on the BBC, reminds me of the good old days!!
Babylon Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 I would love to see city play on the BBC, reminds me of the good old days!! Aaaaaargh... televised games on ITV with Jimmy Greaves slagging us off, they were the days.
mb2251 Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 8 August Newcastle v. West Brom 5.30pm BBC One26 Sept. Ipswich v. Newcastle 5.30pm Unconfirmed I'm sure I read when the BBC won the rights that no team could be shown more than once??
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Aaaaaargh... televised games on ITV with Jimmy Greaves slagging us off, they were the days. What was Jimmy Greaves problem with us anyway? I remember Kevin Poole making an awesome save against somebody once, and Greavsie reckoned it was 'a poorly struck shot' and not a bloody brilliant save. Did Brian Little nail his missus or something?
leicesterseddon Posted 1 July 2009 Author Posted 1 July 2009 I'm sure I read when the BBC won the rights that no team could be shown more than once?? Haven't read anything like that. It would seem not... Personally I think Newcastle will feature in 3+ of the matches....
mb2251 Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Haven't read anything like that. It would seem not...Personally I think Newcastle will feature in 3+ of the matches.... Can't find the article (think it was the BBC Football blog thing), seems I am mistaken <_<
Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Why is this, Newcastle aren't that fooking great . And at least show Forest v Derby, QPR and Cardiff respectively? Newcastle will probably be in another 2-3 games because everyone loves them
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Will they show the Walkers episode M69 Derby? A 5:30 kick-off will really please plod.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 I'm sure I read when the BBC won the rights that no team could be shown more than once?? No team can be shown more than FOUR times And they cannot broadcast from the same ground more than TWICE
breadandcheese Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Aaaaaargh... televised games on ITV with Jimmy Greaves slagging us off, they were the days. I used to love all of that as a kid. I remember the theme tune was the intro to Regret by New Order. Brilliant. I'm not sure how the some of the rights ended up with the Beeb (maybe it was a lack of interest by other channels), but this could work out well for the football league. With the loss of regional matches on the telly, I think there's been less interest in smaller teams particularly by kids growing up supporting football. Hopefully, this'll address some of that balance.

Nicked some of this for posting on TB.
Jimmy Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 No team can be shown more than FOUR timesAnd they cannot broadcast from the same ground more than TWICE so both Boro-Newcastle games then and the3 geordies are out of appearances
StanSP Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Best City match televised i saw was when we beat Spurs 3-2.
mb2251 Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 No team can be shown more than FOUR timesAnd they cannot broadcast from the same ground more than TWICE Manish and Gary have dropped the ball on this....
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Manish and Gary have dropped the ball on this.... They'd better start throwing their toys out of the pram sooner rather than later!

But remember, these games are in addition to the ones shown by Sky. We'll probably feature on there as often as anyone.
Corky Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Haven't read anything like that. It would seem not...Personally I think Newcastle will feature in 3+ of the matches.... I know it will be a pain, but they do have the biggest fanbase and will attract many viewers.
maddog Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Bet we will only get 1 match then. Why Newcastle so much
Bryn Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Newcastle were always going to be chosen the most. And let's be honest, they will in all likelyhood draw the biggest audience.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Bet we will only get 1 match then. Why Newcastle so much Why? WHY? Because Newcastle United are absolutely MASSIVE we know that they have won (not) so much in the last 40 years, and they are SO MUCH MORE than just a big fanbase and big stadium. How could you be so stupid!
BoneDog Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Aaaaaargh... televised games on ITV with Jimmy Greaves slagging us off, they were the days. I remember meeting Ian St. John and John the old Coventry manager (Sillet I think his name is) at Watford away when we beat em 1-0 last day of the season live on ITV. Ian St. John mentioned him and Greavsie slagging us off and said he wouldn't do it that day! I didn't know what he was on about at the time
The Doctor Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Why? WHY?Because Newcastle United are absolutely MASSIVE we know that they have won (not) so much in the last 40 years, and they are SO MUCH MORE than just a big fanbase and big stadium. How could you be so stupid! they won the texaco cup once in the last 40 years (free petrol for a year ) and the intertoto cup. their trophy cabinet is full... it just contains trophies no-one actually wants
Webbo Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 Somebody's just told me that Newcastle away is on Sky. Has anyone else heard anything?
