In the midst of the Jackson mournings....

A lot of people have forgotten that yesterday [July 7th] was the fourth anniversary of the July 7th bombings in London.

I can't believe it's actually 4 years ago this tragic event happened.

I didn't forget :). Actually chatted about it just before MJ's memorial began. And looked at the memorial that has been erected in London.

I didn't forget, although the only thing i did was mention it on my Facebook status.

I can't either.

It was around the time I was moving to London after uni, and it scared the shits out of me at the time. I was viewing houses on the day of the failed London bombings a couple of weeks later and we were on the same number bus as one of the attempts but about 30 mins ahead of it.

This is a real reason for a bit of mourning. What happened that day was just terrible.

There's people saying that Jacksons funeral was bigger then Obama's inauguration etc. It shows the state of society, people are more interested in pop stars and fame then 'normos'!!! :(

So sad and unnecessary :(

RIP to all those that lost their lives in the bomb attacks.

They'll never be forgotten regardless the latest news story.

I didn't forget.

I was working in Canary Wharf at the time. Crazy day with all the rumours flying around, including one that someone was shot outside our office.

Still, it was business as usual the next day - got the bus to work, all the tubes were back up and running, people just got on with it. Some may see Londoners as a selfish, rude bunch but there was a real feeling of solidarity after what happened that I won't forget.

Yeah I was living just outside London at the time. Was just about to sit an exam when we got the news through. It definitely had an eary feeling about it.

The worst was as I remember each bomb was coming through one at a time. What started as news of an explosion in one station turned out to be numerous and you just didn't know when it was going to stop.

I was busy helping prepare my sisters wedding in Kensington & Chelsea. I got the news via text from my brother who was near Kings Cross at the time - a wave of emotions went through me, like.

I think it was the right thing to do. You can't let these people intimidate you, and stop you leading your own life.

I went to London the day after because I'd already arranged to. We did talk briefly about whether we should go, but we all agreed that we weren't going to let it change our plans.

It was very strange down there. Covent Garden almost deserted on a Friday afternoon, and all the tube trains nearly empty as well, which was hardly surprising

I certainly didn't forget the bombings, nor the 52 innocent people who were killed that day. (Almost started a thread myself actually.)

The memorial looks like a beautiful, peaceful place for relatives to visit and reflect on the passing of their loved ones who were so cruelly taken from them that day. I remember a couple of particularly tragically ironic stories from 7/7; a devout Muslim by the name of Shahara Islam killed by people claiming to act in the name of her faith, and Anat Rosenberg who moved away from Israel because she was scared of suicide bombers targeting buses in her home country. Both died on the bus in Tavistock Square. RIP to all those who died that day.

Is a nice touching tribute to the people who lost their lives that awful day. Should never be forgotten and that terrorist won't ever stop people living everyday normal lives.

Remember when Inter shat themselves about coming to England for their pre season tour and the english government stepping in and doing something good for a change.

I didn't forget, I was speaking to my dad about it that day.

Never forget 7/7 or the people that died that day.

Cannot believe it is four years, it has flown by...

I'm ashamed to say that I did forget yesterday...such a dark day that was.

Sorry, never forget.

Me, the wife and kids landed in Portsmouth and were about to catch the train into and across London.

It was shocking news to be greeted with - that we were going to have to spend a night in Portsmouth.

Those terrorist bastards.

RIP

And thoughts must go out to all those who lost loved ones, and all those who were left disabled and traumatised by those murdering b*stards.
