Fryatt & Bentleys

Fryatt to a Premiership club = money. English Championship strikers always end up getting spooned off to Prem teams ridiculously over their value so, sure, why not?

We'd obviously replace him and I don't think it'd be that hard if we spent a million or two. He did really well last year so we all want to stick with him - but he doesn't have great pace, great strength, a championship track record, immense aerial prowess or any number of noteable attributes.

I like him, don't get me wrong, but everyone has their price.

But we don't want another Dj Campbell on our hands if we are going to spend that amount of money.

Not only that. It's also what he said about the club after his spell at Blackpool.

Thing is hes young and scored loads last season, we could get an overpriced fee for him really.

Don't believe he will go Wigan though, they've just signed Jason Scotland.

I think Matty will do a lot better than in his last championship season, as he's got a better midfield behind him and therefore better service.

However, coming up against generally more physical defenders in the championship, I can only see him getting 10 or 12 goals. I'd like to keep him, but as Finnegan said, he has his price.

agreed

I'd still sell him though if Wigan or anybody else who want to pay silly money. The fact is Matty is replaceable.

Wigan arn't that dumb. If they have watchd Fryatt play, they'll keep their wallets closed tighter than a straight man's arse during a gay parade.

I agree that Matty will/may do better in the championship now he has been down a level to league one and scored a few goals and has a manager that has confidence in him, seeing as Allen didn't even play him at the start of last season.

When I first looked at this rumour I thought this couldn't be true but for him to be left out of both of the squads for tomorows games is quite interesting.

Don't want him to go, ecspecially with our striker issues but if Wigan pay enough (and they have enough) we will accept and Fryatt wouldn't turn down a move to a Premiership side would he?

Hopefully this is only a rumour.

I can recall only once where he had a 'good' game and that was S****horpe away this season although he still managed to miss two clear chances.

He has pace, but always seems to be offside and always seems to be knocked off of the ball easily...

But, untill we get another striker or two in we need him here regardless of his ability.

I would take 2 million straight away.

Hmmmm, its ok saying that and I respect your opinion but if we took that, we wouldn't have a 'goalscorer' in our side and Nigel would have to act fast to get someone in.

And, I cannot think of an established goalscorer at Championship level who is avaliable for less than £4million never mind £2million unless we take a gamble on players like Marcus Tudgay (who is off to Burnley anyway apparently).

- Unless we take it to far by signing someone for something like £6.5million like Wolves did with Kevin Doyle.

Just a quick question for someone:

Where is David Kitson these days? Is he at Stoke or Reading? I know he was at Reading last season (last part of last season) on loan but did they make it permanent?

If not, why not take a stab at him because I persume Stoke don't want him!

what you mean besides the small matter of Stoke wanting to recoup a large portion of the £5.5million they paid for him? way out of our league in terms of money
