Once i've downloaded the new patch, what folder do I put the patch in?

A patch doesn't go anywhere does it? It automatically updates the game itself.

I think.

Not so much automatically; when the file downloads you double click the icon to run it and then press 'Update'

Make sure you do not have FM running at this time.

When I double click the icon it keeps comming up with this mesage, windows cannot open this file, to open this file windows needs to know which file created it.

HELP!!

I run the game through steam. I've not had any problems with the game since I bought it upon release (so months now). However, as usual steam has updated the new patch onto the game automatically, and now every time I try and run the game it says "I'm dangerously low on memory" and forces the game to quite before I can even get to the main menu.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

P.s. my laptop is only 6 months old, has all the requirements needed, has plenty of memory left...e.t.c.

In Steam go to the My Games tab in Steam, right click on Football Manager 2010 -> properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game cache.

Try putting .exe and the end of the file name.

So, my career has gone as QPR manager, yes, I have been sacked again!

After loosing in the play off's the previous season, I signed just 4 players to mop the team up abit but I was shocking. I sat 14th in the division.

However, I had one positive; The Coca-Cola Cup:

2nd round: Millwall 0-7 QPR

3rd round: QPR 3-1 Bradford

4th round: QPR 5-2 Blackburn

5th round: QPR 4-3 Derby

6th round: QPR 2-2 Spurs (Spurs won on pens)

Then, I got sacked.

i cant put screen grabs up as i'm at work

In the first couple of seasons i struggled to find any 5 star rating apart from the obvious (ronaldo, kaka, torres etc) but 3 seasons in nathan delfounso from villa is a 5* (signed him for 11.5mill) jack rodwell is as well.

on a completely different note i managed to sign torres from liverpool for 65mill for athletico madrid at the start of the 3rd season! it didnt go down to well with the guy i play in a network game with!

They're not coaches though. And 'player stars' change relative to the reputation and competition your club is in. So what used to be a 5-star player could easily become a 3 star player in the future, because your club has progressed from say, Championship level to Premier League and Champions League front runner.

It's not a glitch. Some clubs that have been heavily linked with some players IRL (I believe) have a certain 'preferred' shortlist of players they will try to buy.

There are a few, but it is very dependant on your database size who you can see and get. Fitness and Goalkeeping coaches are by far the easiest to find. There's a thread on the SI Games forums with some of the best backroom staff in them.

When you start a new game, you'll see it says 'Generating manager targets' or something like this... these players are those targets

Dissapointing second season with Barnsley, finished 15th. However, I did get to the carling cup semi finals Third season has started brilliantly 14 games 13 wins, 1 loss.

Celtic is a brilliant game... I remember getting to the semis of the Champions League before my save file corrupted

Right it's time for a proper crack on this haven't played it at all since I first got it apart from one quick game with City, was still playing 09, have a cracking game with Staines Town sitting comfortably mid table in the Championship for the second season running.

Time to find a good tactic and some training.
