If Palace lose or draw tomorrow, how do you think they will set up at Hillsbrough? Try and get a point, or go for the win?

Posted

I think the most annoying thing is about the whole relegation fight is that how a team as poor as Wednesday can still stay up when we went down on 52 points. But still that was in the past now.

Palace shouldnt be there like people have said so wish them all the best.

On purely footballing terms, Wednesday deserve to go down and should be relegated already. Would be a shame for Palace if their administration costs them their place in the league.

Did they vote for a points deduction a few years ago? Yes.

In turn do they deserve the points deduction for going into admistration? Yes.

Should they get relegated because of the points deduction they voted for? Yes.

What goes around comes around, they wanted the points deduction when they voted in favour of it if they get relegated due to the points deduction they'll be regretting voting in favour for it won't they now?!

Do I have any sympathy? None whatsoever.

Correct.

Just got to change - Should they not get relegated because of the points deduction they voted for? Yes.

That Olsson's a right ****, been a decent game this has.

Always has been.

Good championship defender though.

Stupid red card for Danns there.

Missing the final game now, could be costly to his team. Stupidity.

Anyone else watch that?

Cracking match i thought. Sheffield Wednesday fans will be loving Cech right now, as he just saved them from slipping down to League 1.

Great display from both keepers though, how West Brom didn't score more than 1 is beyond me.

The game on Sunday between Palace and Wednesday is by far the most important now; even more so than the fight for 6th place and that final play-off spot.

Think Sheff Weds will win it 1-0.

11 minutes of added time in the 2 halves! 5 in the first and 6 in the second! So many missed chances. That was horrible to watch and I'm delighted it is over. Thank you Baggies. Thank god for Marek Cech. It's in our hands. :scarf::chant: Come on Wednesday!

I wouldn't get too excited just yet mate. We've shown time and time again what a set of arses are currently shaming the blue and white stripes. We've had dozens of chances to save ourselves over the last few weeks and shown the remarkable ability to balls it up each time. Besides, a live tv audience would be the ideal opportunity for most amount of pain to be inflicted - you should know that that's the Wednesday Way!

True mate but we still have one more chance. There were positives to be taken from Cardiff we didn't roll over like we have in many games. We were just beaten by a better side. I dont think Palace are a great side and they should be beatable at Hillsborough. Especially in front of a big crowd. Have faith!

Final point and stat for the day:

The last time Crystal Palace were relegated to the third tier the club finishing 4th bottom finished 1 point ahead winning on the last day of the season with 12 wins in total. The previous game was an 8-0 loss at Middlesbrough. This season we have won 11 games.

The club that finished above Palace that season despite the 8-0 loss the previous week...

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY.

1973-74 which was the season before our darkest spell in the clubs history. Hopefully we survive like that team but build on it more successfully. It is in our hands.

that sounds like your clutching at straws a bit there. Like to see you stay up purely to hear Palarse moaning about the points deduction despite having voted for it etc. etc. etc.

Be a bit harsh to see them go down by a point with a better goal difference when they had the 1-0 defeat to brizzle with that sears goal not being given.

No straw clutching just repeating to you a bit of history. The game will be entirely different at the weekend but we can stay up and I believe we will.

We have had decisions go against us too this season. It happens. That's football! They deserve the deduction because it's the rules. They can't complain about that they went into administration. If Palace go down it will be because they didn't get enough points. Just as it will be for us. We are incredibly lucky to still be in with a chance of survival but that is how it is. What will be will be.

In this final relegation dogfight involving Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday, I'm stuck with the choice of a team with a ten-point points deductions due to mismanagement/financial irregularities and a team that has hardly ever played up to its potential.

Whom would you choose to go down? I can't really decide.

Simply out of sympathetic reasons, I'd miss the Owls in the Championship.

And Crystal Palace need to start anew in a new league - they've been the Championship's gray mouse ever since their last relegation from the Premier League.

Would both deserve to go down? Yes.

Fortunately you don't have to decide that's why they'll be playingtongue.png
