C-man Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Scunthorpe safe after 2-2 draw with Reading. Great achievement for them considering the crowds they pull in. Having said that, I don't like them much and I can't think that that 2-1 win there will ever be beaten in terms of a day out so if I'm honest I would have prefered them to join Plymouth and P'boro. Also means Reading can officially no longer reach the play-offs.

I think Reading will be in contention next season, had a storming run over the past couple of months.
jimmer Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 QPR 1 Watford 0 Watford are on a terible run! Dropping precariously close now
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 So either Watford, Crystal Palace or Sheffield Wednesday following Plymouth and Peterborough into League One next season. Who'd you pick? Who'd deserve it most? The Owls and Hornets have both had abysmal second halfs to the season so far - or could the points deduction be the final nail in Palace's coffin? From a sporting point of view, probably Watford then. Playoff contenders at one point and now look where they are... Wouldn't want to see Wednesday drop down one level.
Shrenchel Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Wednesday. Can't remember the last time I really enjoyed an away day there, probably never. Be a shame to see any of the London trips bounce out.
Fosse Boy Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 I guess everyone's in agreement that we wouldn't want to lose Selhurst from the awayday roster if we stay down then.
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Well, imagine a Crystal Palace - Millwall, Crystal Palace - Brighton or Sheffield Wednesday - Leeds match-up in League One next season... Madness.
Super_horns Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 If its not us then it will down to Sheff W not picking enough points rather than anything we do.
Koke Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 I hate to say it but I'd prefer Wednesday to go down. Never really enjoyed going to Hillsbrough. Much prefer the London [and Watford] away days. We already have a shortage of London clubs in this division as it is - don't want any more to drop out.
Jordan Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Steve Coppell named new Bristol City boss: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/b/bristol_city/8629045.stm

dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Swansea out of the play-offs, simply not enough goals scored all season. Blackpool should keep hold of 6th next week.
Daggers Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 That's a great appointment for them. Yes - but I'm betting he brings unrealistic expectations for the supporters and management which will result in unfulfilled dreams and the sack before the end of next season. I reckon he's too good for them, if you get me.
Salieri Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Holloways doing a great job. To be fair, he is yeah. If you look at his track record he has done a pretty good job wherever he's gone, apart from us of course. Why didnt he do it for us?

Why didnt he do it for us? Dunno but he would have got us out of league 1 easy, whether he would have done as well as NP in the Championship, we'll never know.
Bakey Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Perhaps the most important/sink or swim moment left to play if Palace lose their next game??? ( Monday, 26 April 2010 Crystal Palace v West Brom, 20:00 ) Sunday, 2 May 2010 Sheff Wed v Crystal Palace, 13:00 Not a game that I'd like to be involved in. Table considering Palace lose 0-1 to West Brom ............................. P GD PTS 21 Crystal Palace.... 45 -4 47 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22 Sheff Wednesday 45 -20 46 I'm thinking draw for this one and I'd rather see Palace stay up anyway.
Asha Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I genuinely believe that Palace will beat West Brom. Going into a game knowing that a win would keep you up, bearing in mind failing to win would mean a final day crunch game with your relegation rivals would surely provoke a massive response from the players. Plus, West Brom have nothing to play for.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I think I'd like to see Palace stay up, I dont like Wednesday all that much but either way it would great to be at that game on the last game of the season (providing Palace dont beat WBA).
Guest Bilo Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Yep. There are about 10 teams capable of winning promotion and we just about fit into that category. Ahem.
lcfc_jme Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I'll be in Germany next weekend but will spare a thought for Sheffield Wednesday and hope they manage to pull something out of the bag against Palace. Which also means I will be urging West Brom to win tomorrow.
