Some things haven't changed; we had fans last season moaning we were never going to be promoted because we were top and had the temerity to draw the odd game! lol

They're Pahetic, Moan at the team and call them when were losing but jump on the bandwagon when were winning :@

never mind the Leicester fans - did you hear the Villa fans booing MON and his team today?

How can they do that after what he has done to the club. I also heard they booed a few times last year and they were 6th! That's pathetic!

The fans were in good voice today, and there didn't seem to be much over-the-top moaning near me as well, which was a refreshing change.

Have to say I dont have a problem with the booing, if your team didnt play well or if they looked like they weren't giving 100% I have no problem with them booing, fans in britain pay through the nose and have to endure ridiculas rules and if they feel like booing so what? its a free country, free country...yeah right.

There's no way they should have lost 2-0 to at home to a team like Wigan.

But their home form this year has been very poor. MON needs to sort it out if Villa are to do anything this season.

Villa fans are all mongtacular idiots, but they do take over Spoons everywhere. So I guess they're allowed to be, right?

We have a spectacular mongtacular element in our fan-base as well. If I was earning what some of our players are every week, and heard these cretins booing me 45 minutes into the new season, I'd laugh. And proceed to play even worse. £5k for the week to me, £25 for the game away from the muppet. Brilliant stuff.

Probally that reason why you never made it pro

On the contrary, I'd say the reason I was never even given a chance to make it as a pro was because of a series of serious, extremely unfortunately timed injuries suffered during the best years for scouting. Had things been different and I'd not have been injured, then who knows? In all honesty, and I know full well it'll sound extremely big-headed of me, I reckon had I not suffered those kinds of injuries when I had suffered them, I would have been at the very least worth a shot with an academy side.

My attitude as a fan from the outside is much different to how it'd be if I was on the inside and playing football was my career.

Quite so, but a lot on here seem to find it difficult to separate the two.

Booing at FT when the team hasnt put a performance in I think is ok.

However before the game is up and especially targeting players shouting wan*** etc. isnt on in my view.

Villa's form since they put out their youth team in the Uefa cup has been horrific. I think its something like 5 points from their last 14 games or something like that, and although generally I'm against booing, I think they're quite within their rights boo after that.

I put it to you that fans who turn up and boo a person/team before the game is even half finished aren't interested in the actual football on show and would be better off going to a big brother eviction where petty minded booing is encouraged. They are pantomine fans.

What about a Bolton-type game, when the team is 4-0 down at half-time?

Unless the team are lacking commitment and effort, just leave - if that floats your boat. There can be many reasons why a performance might be under expectations. Scatter-gun booing serves no purpose other than to give the oik fan a chance to demonstrate his frustrations in public. It's just attention-seeking angst.

I admit to booing the team once, that was at home to Plymouth under Ian Holloway in February, 2008. The team had just lost 2-1 to Blackpool away a week earlier. It was a bad evening at the Walkers, horrible weather conditions, poor atmosphere, and was amazed that there were still 21'000+ people showing up.

The team played crap. Really crap. I booed them towards the end of the second half because I couldn't see anything productive coming from the pitch any longer.

I also followed the team to Watford for the following match, and they truly delivered an unbelievable 1-0 loss against ten-man Watford. The away support made up for the lack of passion the team displayed and I met a few familiar faces that night which was the fun part.

Those two games are amongst the two worst I've ever witnessed as a fan (but to be honest, I've only seen a few all in all so far).
