Joe. Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Well, it's definitely not going to be an easy one. Despite losing at Coventry last week, Ipswich are clearly a very strong side at home, and we'll do well to get something from the game. I'd take a point right now very happily to be honest. If we put in a showing like the one against Swansea in the second half we'll get something from this match without a doubt. But which Leicester are going to turn up? I'd personally have: Weale Neilson --- Hobbs --- Brown --- Berner N'Guessan --- Oakley --- Wellens --- Adams Howard --- Fryatt Prediction: Ipswich 1-0 Leicester
Matt Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Ipswich 'money grabbing tossers' Town 0 - 1 Leicester City.
Flynny Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Weale Neilson --- Tunchev --- Brown --- Berner N'Guessan --- Oakley --- Wellens --- Dyer Howard --- Fryatt 1-1.
Granno Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 I'm going full of hope of a win, but give me a draw right now and I'd snap your hand off. Historically a very tricky place to go.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 WealeNeilson --- Tunchev --- Brown --- Berner N'Guessan --- Oakley --- Wellens --- Dyer Howard --- Fryatt 1-1. This. But I don't think NP will play Tunch to be honest, and I think your prediction is about right too, but I am hoping for one nil City.
Cropwellfox Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Weale Neilson --- Hobbs --- Brown --- Berner N'Guessan --- Oakley --- Wellens --- Dyer Howard --- Fryatt Subs: Logan, Morrison, Tunchev, Adams, King, Gradel, Waghorn Ipswich 3 : 1 City Winning there on consecutive occasions is highly unlikely. I can see a bit of a wake up call today, which prob won't be a bad thing in the long run. Hope not though, especially if we are the main feature on TV! Enjoy the trip to those who are going, always a good away day, memories of fancy dress and general carnage i think in 90/91?!
stevie909 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 you watch. it'll be rape in the first degree. 3-0 city. then again....
Nick Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Come on team.8-0. 1 - 2 methinks Leicester to score first followed by an equaliser, followed by a winner for City around the 80th minute and I reckon Howard will be sent off today. He could have seen red in both Swansea and Macc games....... Right off to the bookies to lose more cash...... I also may stick some money on a certain defender making his debut scoring...... you never know, the odds will be good!
Candidcamera Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 I think that Dyer will start and lets hope Tunchev features on the bench. Morrison may start too. The team has done little wrong for the new full back to start.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Going for: Ipswich 1-2 Leicester or Ipswich 1-1 Leicester Heart says win, head says draw. Tough game. Tougher than Swansea definitely, and if we go by records it doesn't look great for us. Hoping N'Guessan gets on the scoresheet
maddog Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 According to the beeb we only have collected 3 points from 9 games at Portman Road. Which means we are definitely due a win there today I would love to see us win 3-1 or 2-0 or 3-0 but if we win it's probably going to be 1-0 or 2-1. Come on BLUES
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 With N'Guessan having a goal per game written into his contract, Ipswich will have to score to get anything from today. Joking aside, this will be a very tough game and I'm looking forward to it.

But which Leicester are going to turn up? I'd personally have: Weale Neilson --- Hobbs --- Brown --- Berner N'Guessan --- Oakley --- Wellens --- Adams Howard --- Fryatt Prediction: Ipswich 1-0 Leicester Agree with that...I've got this feeling Tunchev won't start today, no point rushing him back. Back four should stay the same, with Neilson coming in for Morrison - who I thought was poor in the first half against Swansea and in any case isn't a natural right-back. Would love to see Adams and N'Guessan start as they've both earned their places in pre-season and the two competitive matches so far, but I feel the temptation to pick King and particular Dyer might prevail. Think we'll be good today, but I'd still take a draw now if it was on the table.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 I'd like to see Tunchev play some part of today's match. I'm not sure how far he has progressed on his injury, but if he can play 45 mins internationally, I'd like to see him play at least 20-25 minutes today.

I'm not sure how far he has progressed on his injury, but if he can play 45 mins internationally, I'd like to see him play at least 20-25 minutes today. Yeah if he's fit enough to play a role, I'd like to see him feature - but if Hobbs and Brown are having a sound game, I'd rather wait and have him back 100% fit. Long season after all, in which he will be in our top 5 most important players in the squad.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 1-3 They've got Macualey in defence and I think our forwards will give them grief. Wellens, Howard & Fryatt
Fox92 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Well despite loosing at The Richo Arena last Sunday, Ipswich Town have a very good and strong side for this division, capable of going somewhere. After watching that match on the television, I personally think they have a weak back four. We all know the former Leicester players in that back four, Gareth McAuley and Damien Delaney who both looked weak. McAuley missed a header which caused Clinton Morrison to score a beauty, and I rekon Delaney isn't very good at defending, although he is fine at going forward and putting crosses in. To me, Alex Bruce is not a full back either and if he starts in that position, we need to play two wingers that will have a go at both full backs, please not Oakley on the right. Ipswich's midfield seems strong and capable. David Norris sustained an injury that match which has put him out untill December/January time so obviousley a strong player will not be playing against us. Having said that, his replacement is fantastic and could cut it in the Premiership; Owen Garven. He a strong lad for 19/20 years of age, he is like Michael Ballack in the air, his passing ability and first touch are very good and he gets stuck in constantly so Oakley and Wellens will have a lot on thier hands if he starts. The wingers get forward well and the one on the left, Peters is very fast and small like Nathan Dyer of Swansea last week. Former Manchester United winger Lee Martin joined in the summer, he wears number 8 and is technically a superb footballer, he likes to play in the middle more than outwide I think. Nigel should start two natural full backs. They haven't got any real big centre forwards although John Stead is fairly big, former Sheffield United star, he likes to attack the ball and is a superb finisher. We all know about the Spanish striker Counago who always seems to be in the correct position at the correct time, being a natural finisher in this division. Keane also started Walters last week and is a great finisher of the ball. Weale Neilson -- Hobbs -- Brown -- Berner N'Guessan -- Wellens -- Oakley -- Dyer Fryatt -- Howard I have selected the side in accordance with the Ipswich team obviousley; although Robbie Neilson has not played this season, he should be fit and slip in for Morrison on the right as Peters is fast and I can see him having a nice, little go at Morrison as he isn't a natural full back. Hobbs and Brown should have no trouble as Ipswich don't really trouble much in the air, apart from set pieces. N'Guessan needs to start on the right instead of Oakley for me. He has scored 2 in 2 already, his pace should put Delaney in trouble and is a fairly bigger wide man to aim at. Although Adams has really impressed me, I will start him on the bench and bring him on as an impact sub. If Alex Bruce starts full back for Ipswich, Dyers pace may be able to again, put Bruce in trouble. Same applies for Waghorn, I think I'd bring him on 50/55/60 minute when McAuley gets tired having played extra time in mid week so then Martyn can run at him. Well, I think I'll predict, ignoring our terrible form at Portmand Road, 2-2.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 I think we'll win this one. They looked very average against Cov. All this talk of Keane, yet it is the team that does it, not him. And their team is not too great. McCauley wouldn't get near our team now. We've moved on, we are "new to this league" ( ), and we are better now than we were two seasons ago. This is the perfect opportunity to send a message to this league. We mean business.
