top 3 memorable goals from city

If you look closely enough I've praised Fryatt as much as I've criticised him. I've constantly highlighted ceertain limitations in his game from fairly early in his career here and suggested he should work on them.

I have always known (and said) that he would score heaps of goals in Division One but questioned whether he had the speed, strength, heading ability, the near-post runs, the variety of shot and the durability to be a Championship striker.

So far this season he's been immense for us overall. I'm delighted. The big improvement it seems is in his sharpness, his fitness and, seemingly his durability.

Every limitation he removes from my list is a plus. There are still at least three or four limitations remaining to be improved before I'll be totally convinced. on the other hand, if we ever get another striker to help him and we ever attack as a unit in the way that we could attack, and if we ever improve our movement off the ball as we should, he might score even more goals.

But as it is I'm delighted for him and today's second goal was a treat to savour for years.

So, in a nutshell Thracian, do you think he could make it as as a striker at a top level, i.e the Premiership with or without us? I'm genuinely interested in your opinion on that...

3 - Cort v Chelsea Carling Cup 07

2 - MDV v Tottenham FA Cup 06

1 - Scowcroft v Reading FA Cup 05

N'guessens equaliser yesterday was a great moment but not as great as it could have been considering we probably should have won.

This is such a difficult decision. .

1. Claridge .V. Crystal Palace -1996 Play-Off Final at Wembley

2. Walsh .V. Arsenal - 1997 Premier League at Filbert Street

3. Elliott .V. Tranmere - 2000 Worthinton Cup Final at Wembley

It was hard not to include Muzzy's volley against Spurs at Filbert Street, i honestly believe if he hadn't scored that O'Neill would have left.

Or Collymore's volley against Spurs, as it has been mentioned, the perfect farewell to the O'Neill era.

But the goals i have chosen have clinched us Premier League status and won us a League Cup under the Twin Towers and Walsh's last minute header proved that the Foxes never quit, even against the best around!

So I havent been to a game since I was a youngster, especially since I've been on the road for the last 4 years, but I've had the pleasure of keeping up with the world of LCFC mostly on here, so thanks for all your views, its kept me in touch with whats been going on without the media hype.

so...

1. Clanks Scorcher against Luton, thats my most memorable goal in football, he kicks it, we all pause in astonishment, the whole stadium erupts, amazing, thanks Clank

2 Stevie getting the winner in the playoffs at webley, if nothing else for the MILF who was sitting beside me and my family, we had talked all game and when he scored she dived on me wrapping her legs around my back... near as getting laid to a 14 year old that was... well, was for me, she was gorgeous, cheers Steve for my near lost virginity.

3. Joey G's half way lob, wasn't there but saw the highlights and luckily was taping it for a friend, that got played over and over

 The equaliser?

Errr yeah, i'm sorry it didn't say best goal did it ? Says memorable goal and Thompson slotting the ball past digby is my favourite goal ever. To come back to 3-3 being 3-0 down was how someone once said .. ITS UNBELEIVBLE STUFF NOW.

People seem to be hovering and supposedly willing to pay up to £5m for him and for a season an a quarter he has done what you can only reasonably ask of strikers - he's scored goals consistently.

He may also have grown up both on and off the pitch since the time of his injury and this might have helped make him a more consistent striker. He's also a confidence player - as many striker's are - and Pearson seems to have enduring faith in him which is understable given what each appear to have done for the other.

There have been improvements too... in Fryatt's general fitness and in his speed off the mark in and around the danger zone. He'll never be a sprinter but the extra yard or half a yard has made a difference and that improves his prospects as a potential Premiership striker.

He'd benefit from being more threat in the air and from a wider range of places (longer distance, near post etc) for me to be more convinced and he'll perhaps need to be still stronger although that aspect too, has improved a little.

Another thing to consider at Premiership level is that he'd get better chance suppliers. We've been pretty awful at creating anything for half of Fryatt's time at Leicester but given the ability of people to spot a pass in the Premiership it may be that Fryatt would still manage a reasonable return in goals given chance because he does get in scoring positions even when he's up against it and he can finish.

Put is this way, I'm much more optimistic about his chances of going further than I was two seasons back. And he'd certainly be no mug to have on a Premiership bench. I've known plenty of decent goalscorers who weren't especially dangerous in the air or noticeably strong. In the end it's what a striker's good at that ends up most important especially if they are prepared top work on their weaknesses.

My absolute fave has to be Heskey v Boro at Wembley. Summed us up under MON. Sunny day at Wembley, last min of extra time etc etc.

Hmmm as for emotion I can't think of any as good. Tranmere game we were big favourites so wouldn't put Elliot's goals in.

Really can't think of anything! Muzzy v Spurs. And his goal v Grimsby for technique. Mybe Cottee v Man Utd at theirs too

Are there any highlights of the '97 final on the net? I wanna watch now!

Ken Keyworth against Man Utd.

Davie Gibson against Chelsea

Len Glover against Spurs

60/70s

Best goal against us, was Jimmy Greaves at White Hart Lane. He weaved past FIVE defenders before netting with our great Gordon Banks in goal. A never to be forgotten goal.

Thompson v Swindon

Walsh v Derby - because of the pain of the past 2 seasons

and whoever scored the winner at Southend in Brian Little's 1st season after many, many awayday hammerings that we had endured from the Pleat era

( i know Tommy Wright crossed it - i think it was Kelly)

anyone help?
