Wycombe Fox Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 I don't think it'll be the first time the term 'left by mutual consent' will be used in respect of Notts County this season.
Samilktray Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Its not like anyone knows his reasons for wanting to leave.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 He may not be the brightest player around, but give the guy some credit. 5 weeks ago he thought this was a good plan, 5 years playing, learn your trade coaching with Sven in charge. Something has clearly not turned out as expected. Perhaps he found out who the owners are and didn't like it..

He was happy enough to accept their generous contract offer so let's not give him any credit at all. He knew the situation when signing the contract. This is a real kick in the teeth for County, I hope prospective clubs treat him with as much contempt as he treated County.
Lillehamring Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 blimey, it doesn't seem that long since notts county were having a whip round to stay in business
maddog Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 It's obvious he's realised he's made a big mistake, playing in a crap league for a crap side for starters. Also he would have been hated by all his fellow players because he would have been on more than their yearly wages in 1 week. So it can't have been nice for him, now he's got to wait until January

Going off what some County fan says at work....apparently the owners are a tad nobbish. Ie. Having a replacement manager lined up for the past two weeks. The way the FL are hovering over the takeover deal...something's a miss

Unfit after injury and looked crap? Not anymore. Cambell is more than capable at 35 if fit of playing in any league. The comments in the media about lack of progress on the facilites and players suggest he was either misled or misunderstood something he thought was fundamental.

I think dandanieldanok was implying that Campbell couldn't adjust mentally to the league, not that he wasn't capable of playing in it. To be honest it's probably a combination of Campbell realising that he made a mistake (so a bit of stick is justified) and the football club being run badly (so a bit of credit is justified).
Webbo Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 At the end of the day he doesn't need the money and probably decided at his age that it wasn't worth the effort.

The reports are that he couldn't adjust to the league so it's not my personal comment, I'm sure he eventually would become one of the better defenders in the league.
leicesterfox86 Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 What an idiot. I wonder what his next move will be now?
Ozwin Posted 23 September 2009 Author Posted 23 September 2009 I just thought, Newcastle's defence has looked half decent this season, this isn't normal. I think a 35 year old stropaholic would fit in nicely...
Wycombe Fox Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 What an idiot. I wonder what his next move will be now? Probably eating kangaroo balls and wichetty grubs in 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' only to leave after one day 'by mutual consent' after someone nicks his teddy on the first night

Wycombe Fox Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 I was thinking along those lines but I didn't want to push the boundaries too far
Daggers Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 I was thinking along those lines but I didn't want to push the boundaries too far If your sig was a bet I'd placed - then the bookies of IOWF should be closing up and paying out on the ticket now
purpleronnie Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 He's an odd character, cant be a surprise to many people.
lou Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 At least County have said theyll take back all the shirts theyve sold with his name on
Sparky Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 He will be back in Prem by end of October imo.

Fox You Forest Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 He will be back in Prem by end of October imo. Can't sign for anyone until January apparently.
