Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Someone must already be lined up to sack Southgate after a victory, and now the chairman has admitted this. It sounds like it is going to be a quick appointment too so I'd guess its someone unemployed.

Benji Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Gibson:"We had a strategy for Gareth's replacement. Timing was determined by the implementation of that strategy." Unless Pearson signed a contract with him last week, someone's got the job already. We're ok for now.
jonthefox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 every time a manager does well, he`ll always be linked with jobs.. we need not worry fellow foxes.
Munzie Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Unless Pearson signed a contract with him last week, someone's got the job already. We're ok for now. The timing suggests contingency plans were in place. Also, if Pearson thinks the Leicester fans expectations are high, that's nothing compared to what Middlesborough want!
Corky Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Seems very likely that Strachan will go to Middlesbrough. Pearson was only linked really because of his connections to the club (obviously now I've said that he'll move there )
bluefox9er Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Radio 5 live are linking pearson with the vacant Middlesborough job. Hopefully just newspaper talk??? It's typical of Radio 5's sports reporting..why not make up a story when there isn't one to begin with...laziest journalism at it's worst. 5 live have a LOT of previous regarding this sort of story, none of it is ever substantiated by any means. ignore it and it will go away.
Hitesh Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 It's not Strachan. How do you know?? Apparently he made the decision to sack him weeks ago so he must be close to getting hold of someone!
Daggers Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I just want Thracian as manager... that way he might realise it's not quite as easy as his style of armchair management. You should watch what you wish for...
C-man Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Steve Gibson is an honourable man. I can't see him approaching Pearson, or anyone else in a job for that matter without going down the official channels - and surely MM would prevent any talks with NP.
ramboacdc Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 i dont think he will go but i wouldnt be surprised if he did after the managers weve had say they love us then leave. we are like a bad girlfriend or something now.
Budweiser Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Mandaric on SSN today said Pearson was going nowhere and poeple shouldn't waste their money betting on Pearson leaving. Sorted.
ramboacdc Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Mandaric on SSN today said Pearson was going nowhere and poeple shouldn't waste their money betting on Pearson leaving.Sorted. yeah but we have heard stuff like this before.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 He will stay. It took about 7 fooking managers for MM to find the right one. He's now found the manager he feels can take us to the premiership. I place my trust in MM and NP. If not, I'll be the first one down there whiping my excrement on the car of Milan Mandaric.

Edmund Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 After the result against Leicester and leading up to that I began to feel uncomfortable with the situation. Seems we put the final nail in the coffin. Colin Cooper and Steve Agnew are still likely to be in charge for Boro's visit to Preston on Saturday but he is keen to appoint a new manager quickly following the shock decision to sack Southgate just hours after Tuesday's 2-0 home win over Derby County. That's a name I've not heard in a while.
