It was all rather silly, I can't really be disappointed because it was never going to happen anyway!

Whenever you talk to Spurs fans about Edgar Davids, they talk well of him but say that he was clearly past his peak when he played for them, and that was 4-5 years ago! I feel it could've been even more disappointing if he went off for Leicester, played like crap, played like he didn't care, and then turned into a disruptive asshole. At least this way, I get to still like Edgar Davids.

Not bothered.

So in summary, Davids and his agent have said nothing at all at any point? Are they somewhere out of reach of mobile phones? Was this all a scam put together by Milan to get in the papers at a time when they could not deny anything? OR in fact are they still playing games, and Eddie will be signed on Monday. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Don't!

Just let it lie.

I knew he wouldn't join, I had a bad feeling about this all along. I feared him and his agent might have done this to attract interest from premiership clubs and I don't think that might be far wrong really. Maybe I am being cynical of him but you can hardly blame me when he drags the deal on for 3-4 weeks and then makes no decision by the deadline.

Shocking.

I did some detective work and managed to get hold of his agent anyone wanting links of how to get this number happy to provide. I spoke to Robert Geerlings this morning and he said the negotiations are nothing to do with him, and comments made saying he had stalled the deal are unfounded and that he has been in Spain for the last 3 weeks on business. I then asked him is this transfer going to take place he replied he was aware Edgar was talking to an English club and negotiations are infact through an English Agent and not him, So why I cant understand have they used his name when he has had nothing to do with any of this.

I agree funny how that Robert Geerlings knew nothing about any negotitiation with Leicester and that at no time in any web report did it mention an english agent was being used. I did explain to Geerlings that he was getting the blame for holding the deal up, again claimed nothing to do with him, and he had not spoken to Leicester City ever, he did say Edgar had mentioned something to him but nothing more.

But I cant understand why the club, have acted as they have total embarrassement left us all chatting about this, making us a laughing stock. If he had 20k to burn a week in wages then he should use it on a good premiership player who wants to play football for us. All this circus has made us forget about tonight, and the possibility of going second. Thinking about it, maybe this Davids thing is a smoke screen to Mandaric and his dealings at Pompey to deflect away attentions. Nigel Pearson obviously wasnt that bothered and who can blame him.

Well, it cheered me up.

In all honesty, he was never coming here in the first place. We all dreamed and hoped he would but were once again taken for a ride along the MM bandwagon to now't spectacular.

Well who'd have thought it would end like this, so out of character for Mandaric

Like many others, I saw the name Edgar Davids being linked to the club and all rationality went out the window. There was always a concern over his fitness after 18 months of not playing football, and at the of 36, it surely would have been a beast of a challenge to get match fit.

If we're being honest, it's not an area we needed to strengthen in particular; in the grand scheme of things, it's not really a set back.

Contrary to Mandaric's claims, the whole thing screamed publicity stunt. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Davids now.
