James. Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Exactly my sentimentsWhile it would have been brilliant to have him, it's no great loss, it isn't like he was critical to our success or anything. QPR tonight, and that'll do for me. The words OH WELL come to mind. At least you can console yourself with the fact you created the biggest, most painful, anticlimactic thread in the history of Foxestalk.
StanSP Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 SOOOOO Happy this was going to end badly for us if he had signed, Now we can concentrate on getting in Tom Cleverley on a permanant deal in the Jan tranfer window....(NOW WE ARE TALKING) Whats your obsessions with Tom Cleverley?? There are other midfielders we could get.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 At least you can console yourself with the fact you created the biggest, most painful, anticlimactic thread in the history of Foxestalk. Is that a good thing or bad thing On the one hand i'm glad I broke the news, but the thread did descend into farce towards the climax of this saga. But still, nearly 2000 replies!
Alexikokopops Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Crap. Now I owe my colleague £5. I got giddy last Friday and made a hasty bet. Much like the one I made with lildave3 about Howard scoring 15 goals last season when he was on about 11 with 4 games to go.

bluefox9er Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Got a funny feeling that whilst we didn't sign Davids, a big-name signing might well be on the cards....just a hunch./... and wouldn't it be a massive result if we win tonight!!!!
Mack Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 A stunt I reckon. Mandaric loves the media attention and this got him a breaking news strap and a couple of interviews on SSN. The whole thing would have been an unwelcome distraction to the club anyway, we need players who can come in to be a positive part of the squad not some has been lording it around the club like he owns the place.
crazylegs1984 Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 well well well thats surprise in a fashion im glad but would of been nice but oh well lets concentrate getting 3 points and climbing the table with the very capable squad we have!
sdb Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Not too bothered at all. Seems to indicate we have a little cash available so hopefully a holding midfielder and right back in Jan and who knows...??
Wycombe Fox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Disappointed and relieved at the same time, which I find odd. I feel the same. Not convinced it's the end of the saga though
Collymore Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Is this thread going to be merged with the daddy to get it over 100?

StanSP Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 He won't find a club at all and will continue with Street Football I think.
lildave3 Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 He won't find a club at all and will continue with Street Football I think. I think he'll open up a barbershop.
MikeyT Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 No it wouldn't a washed up past it, once good, but now too old footballer we don't need him never did end of move on! Alright, chill!

Leicesterboi Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Whilst I would have love to have seen Edgar Davids in a Leicester shirt I think this is a good thing for the club. Signing Davids would have brought a lot of media attention to the club and we would have been under scrutiny. I would much rather just keep going about our business quietly and sit pretty in the play offs without too much fuss. I get the impression NP would be happier with this outcome than MM and NP will carry on plotting his assault on gaining a play off spot whilst Mandaric will be looking at the next way to get us into the spotlight to add £££ to his valuation of the club.
FilboFox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Well there's a surprise. To be honest, I think this is a blessing in disguise as he'd be being paid a hell of a lot and may have been an unsettling person in the dressing room. On we go, lets hope for a win from QPR!
Edmund Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1841823,00.htmlLeicester City Football Club have today announced that Edgar Davids will not be joining the club. The former Dutch international midfielder has been in talks with the club for the past few weeks, but the parties were unable to strike a deal. Leicester City Chairman, Milan Mandaric, said: "Unfortunately we were not able to come to an agreement with Edgar and his representatives. We have decided not to take this matter further and wish Edgar luck in his future career." I don't blame the guy. Who in their right mind would swap Amsterdam for Leicester.
