Rincewind Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 When I worked I used to have to walk home past the Quaker meeting house on Queens Road. I cringed at the notices on the boards out side/ A picture of man or woman with words something like ' I am a foreign aid worker and I am a quaker.' Every other week a new face appeared with a similar message. I used to think so bloody what if you are a Quaker Not all people that do foreign aid work are religious so why try and give the impression that you have to be to be a good and moral person. Just started to watch Newsnight Richard Dawkings is going to be on answering some scientific questions in relation to religion. (quote0 So to a certain extent morals are hardwired into us and not something we learn from holy books or teachings. (quote And this was the crux of my little tale. Wymsey Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 Seen a group of them saying 'EDL' in front of horrified local Asians on St.Patrick's day. (No, I wasn't part of it ) Disgraceful.
The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 Whoa whoa whoa. Next you'll be telling me that some bloke didn't part the red sea with a wave of his hand, a burning bush can't talk, Lee Chapman is not still on the verge of a move to Leicester City and that Postman Pat is a fictional character. Rincewind Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 The Lee Chapman part is scientifically impossible.
The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 The Lee Chapman part is scientifically impossible. You and your science. Stick it in a boring, dusty book full of improbables, impossibles, contradictions and unverified assertions and I'll take it as 'gospel'!
Rincewind Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 The others were in the bible though. Not sure about Postman Pat unless he was used as a messenger.
The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 The others were in the bible though. Not sure about Postman Pat unless he was used as a messenger. I think he must have been one of the disciples. Not sure what his discipility was though. Must have been mental since his mobility seemed pretty good. Rincewind Posted 13 September 2011 Share Posted 13 September 2011 Richard Dawkins has just been on talking about a book he is involved with, a book for children retelling legends in a scientif way. Did you know that the sun wasn't created until the fourth day? How did the person making notes of the event see to write?

MeltonBlueBoy Posted 23 November 2012 Share Posted 23 November 2012 That video is what i mean. That man has no idea what he is speaking about and he along with a few other things will stop the EDL aceiving what they want.
Bugg Posted 23 November 2012 Share Posted 23 November 2012 I've seen interviews with Tommy Robinson which show exactly what kind of people this organisation are, they might claim they are fighting for the greater good but it's just very thinly veiled racism. BunkMoreland Posted 23 November 2012 Share Posted 23 November 2012 Are they still going? Seems to me that the media painted them as the pantomime villain. A nice easy pick me up for those who are energised by perceived superiority.
MeltonBlueBoy Posted 23 November 2012 Share Posted 23 November 2012 Which bits of the EDL do you agree with? I agree with the fact shariah law has no place in a western civilisation i also belive women have rights and should not be beaten. I believ that teenage girls should no be burned in acid becaue they have become to 'westernised'
