davieG Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 ..and we'll have equalled our 2008 relegation total of 52 now that's what I call an improvement.
Karljohn Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Still need a point to match 2008s piss poor total? Pearson Out. Get rid of Waghorn and sell Fryatt to Bradford Park Avenue for 5 grand and a dozen matchballs.
Foxhateram Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Nice! glad to see we are doing so well this season
purpleronnie Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 The Championship is going downhill fast.

MrSpaM Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Considering we went down with the highest points tally of any other relegated club this is a decent stat, shows how well we've progressed in the past two years

Ozwin Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Should never have been relegated on 52 points, that's crazy.
Uncle Albert Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 So a point on Saturday, City have matched 2008's total with 13 games to spare? Promotion!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 It's also sobering to know that we've lost only 1 more league game than Man Utd, even though we've played 4 games more!
Corky Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Need four more goals to overtake the tally of 42 for the whole season that year.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Need four more goals to overtake the tally of 42 for the whole season that year. We really couldnt score that season could we! And people moan we dont score enough this season! Thinking about it we beat Norwich 4-0, Watford 4-1 and WBA 4-1 that season as well as hitting 3 a couple of time sso we must have lost more games without scoring than I remember.

That would be the largly forgettable Megson rein I expect!
StanSP Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 That would be the largly forgettable Megson rein I expect! I don't think Megson masterminded any of those victories...? Norwich and West Brom were in Feb and March (?). And Mad Dog saw us beat Watford and then get sacked.
General Smuts Posted 25 February 2010 Posted 25 February 2010 I don't think Megson masterminded any of those victories...?Norwich and West Brom were in Feb and March (?). And Mad Dog saw us beat Watford and then get sacked. He means the opposite - we never scored under Megson.

Yes, we did, unfortunately though we drew too many games and this was our downfall. Strangely we have drawn too many games this season however, we manage to win more thankfully! There is a thin dividing line in this league re Drawing games. Prime example is Ipswich they haven't lost many games this season yet are struggling down at the wrong end of the table with all thier draws. This was our problem in 2008.

Glad we are performing so much better this season. Interesting that someone said we only need 4 more goals to eqaul that years tally. We should never have been relegated with 52 points though thats harsh! previous seasons before that one, 45 points would have been just about enough to remain safe. I think the Forest game will decide what the rest of the season is like. Win and i truely believe the sqaud will have the confidence to go on and do special things. Draw/Lose We will remain where we are and just about secure that 6th place. Exciting times! hoping to get to more games for the remainder of the season to add to my abismal 4 i have managed to make this season so far.
