Anish Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 fook it. I didn't have me glasses on and Google images said it was thoe Zagorakis. Corrected!! You had to rely on google images to tell you that was Theo?! Have you ever seen Theo? F**k me some people better be joking on this thread, the likes of Colin Hill, David Speedie, Zagorakis, David Oldfield, Ormondroyd were not crap.

Have you ever seen Theo?F**k me some people better be joking on this thread, the likes of Colin Hill, David Speedie, Zagorakis, David Oldfield, Ormondroyd were not crap. There is some serious misunderstanding of the word crap, in this thread Carl Muggleton, Gavin Ward, Arnar Gunlaugsson, Theo how the fook can anyone call Theo crap, he would have been our best player in any Leicester team since then, Matt Heath, Brian Deane, Franz Carr, none of these players were crap like the shit we've had for the last few years... ...but Ian Ormondroyd was crap, so was David Oldfield, well after he broke his leg. We have had many shit players over the years but my favourite has to be Gary Coatsworth: Mainly for that goal against Luton. Good shouts for Colin Gibson, and Brian Carey (both ex-Man U) and Phil Gee - utter wank. I would like to add Mark Robins - Not necessarily a crap player but he was gash for us Also ex-manu and Bobby Davison
martinkop1 Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 who thinks peter crouch is an ormondroyd pretender
lou Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 Well I thought he was gash so, neeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr
Thracian Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 Frank Large - "the (old fshioned) dustbinman" cos he cleaned up everything in his way. Frank ws the most unlikely footballer. His close control made Wayne Brown look like Pele and he was about as subtle as a swinging demolition ball. But so effective - goals off his arse and goals off his shin but they all counted.
harpendenfox Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 whenever threads of this ilk appear I can't help going all dreamy over the likes of: Martin Henderson Lammie Robertson Gregor Stevens they were down there with modern day equivalents such as Josh Low Andy Johnson Shaun Newton Our much discussed friend Ian Ormondroyd even earned his own chant "Who needs Can-to-na when we've got Orm-ond-royd" was a terrace classic

Frankie Large, what a man. Ian Marshall without the skill, but as you say, effective. Given the pitches we had then, we needed someone that big and strong. From Northampton Town, who were then in Div1 – hard to imagine now. From same era, remember Alan Woollett 'the Bullet'? He turned out ok in the end, but never really won the fans round. Stringy had a tendency to beat two players then himself, but he was a good player nonetheless. Not sure we really had any truly crap players in that era – Matt Gilles wouldn't have let them anywhere near the team sheet. I remember an early season Div 2 away game at Selhurst Park, early 1980's (we lost 2-1), we had a new Scandiwegian centre forward playing his first game. He was about the same size as Frank L, but nowhere near as fit or effective. After about 10 minutes, he'd turned bright red and could barely move. Wish I could remember his name – don't think he played too many games...

I've had a look through my book and it could have been a Norwegian by the name of Osvald signed on loan from Notts Forest in season 87-88. We lost 2-1 away at Palace 12th Septmeber 1987. He only made three appearances.

I loved watching Largie. he looked like he'd been smashed across the teeth with a branch from the ugly tree but would run through walls for the side. Tony Spearing and anyone with the surname "Blake" now we're talking craptitude. Also there were those 2 youngsters that MON kept picking (Wilson and ???) only MON thought they had the makings of Premiership players everyone else knew they were shite
