Foxyroxy Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Adams is off to Div 1 side Leyton Orient on a season loan deal, I dont think we would get much money for him & he won't figure much next season, so I suppose it's a good deal for everyone involved as he enjoyed his loan speall last season. Has anyone else heard this rumour? How much would he bring in if Leyton Orient signed him? Is a season loan deal a good thing or should we demand a transfer? I added this on another thread, but as I received no reply I started a new thread.
beemeroo Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 The lads only 23 and has shown some promise in the past. I imagine he's off on loan to gain some experience, not with view to a transfer. Edit to say that's if the rumour is true of course.
Ozwin Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 I know an Orient fan and he loves him. Was badgering me about us not playing him enough the other month.
Fosse Boy Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Not exactly a carbon copy but they'll need someone like Adams to replace Jason Demetriou now he's off to play in Cyprus.
Jimmy Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 I know an Orient fan and he loves him. Was badgering me about us not playing him enough the other month. some orient fan on another forum I used really went off on 1 that we recalled him only to have him sit on the bench, we had to remind him that as he's our player we could do what we fooking liked
Fox92 Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Dont think he offers much anyway, so a loan could be a good deal. Don't think we'll be able to sell him for much...
MC Prussian Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 he's average Err... No. He's much better than that.
Asha Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Err... No. He's much better than that. I really like him, and would have liked to see more of him for sure. Personally I don't like sending players out on loan on successive occasions. If we're not going to use him (which seems to be the case), then let's get rid and move on.
poopbutt Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Err... No. He's much better than that. no he isn't. that's why he's going leyton orient.
MC Prussian Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 no he isn't. that's why he's going leyton orient. Ever thought about the fact that we've currently got an overabundance of good (central defensive) midfielders? That's why he's going out on loan (again). Besides, he's one of the youngest in the first squad and in need of match practice. Rough diamond.
lildave3 Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 some orient fan on another forum I used really went off on 1 that we recalled him only to have him sit on the bench, we had to remind him that as he's our player we could do what we fooking liked If Sunderland did that with Waghorn you'd have kicked off big time.
Corky Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I like him, but he never really got a true chance last season. Probably best to part ways if a similar situation arises next year.
Joe. Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 He's never showed that he's good enough for the Championship here, not once. Whilst we have a small squad he's not going to cut it at the moment so another season long loan would be best for all parties involved.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Although he seems to be a clever sort of player I cant think of a time when he has come off the bench and really changed the game, whilst people like N'Guessan have. If you were looking for someone to come on and grab a goal or set one up, who would it be Adams or N'Guessan? I'd imagine the majority would say DNG. Adams almost needs a run in the team, but I cant see him getting that as unfortunately for him he has players ahead of him who perform consistently better.
Jimmy Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 If Sunderland did that with Waghorn you'd have kicked off big time. I wouldn't of gone onto that forum and DEMANDED that they send him back immediately, btw this was after the deadline for loaning players anyway so even if we had wanted too we couldn't
lcfcsnow Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Brentford have made a £175,000 bid for Leicester midfielder Nicky Adams.
Tuna Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 175k seems an awfully large amount for a team like Brentford, don't think they could afford to shell out anything like that. Adams is a versatile and worthy member of the first team squad and should be retained.
Fox You Forest Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 I'd take that, does anyone really see him improving much beyond where he is now, which the manager clearly thinks isn't good enough, I don't.
Webbo Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 Brentford have made a £175,000 bid for Leicester midfielder Nicky Adams. Just under the picture: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1285958/Reading-No-1-Adam-Federici-snubs-Spurs-Liverpool.html?ito=feeds-newsxml#ixzz0rViS36AR
MPH Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 fair amount, really... plus a sell on clause, i would expect if he makes it big..
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 That price would mean we lose money I think, so would like to see more though I doubt it is likely.
foxoffderby Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 I like Adams would love to seen him given more of a chance. £175k a little on the low side for me.
Unabomber Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 I wouldn't want us to sell him, we should loan him out for a season with a recall clause.
