Jordan Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 For the record, is Crncic pronounced as, "Chirn-chich?"
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 It's going to be interesting to see who the signing are, and also an indication of the style of play we can expect in the coming season. :scarf:
Callabinho Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Is Koren still on a free ? I think there maybe a surprise signing too.
andy_croydz Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 For the record, is Crncic pronounced as, "Chirn-chich?" That's how I have been pronouncing it so I hope so I remember Aston Villa having a player in the 90's called Sasa Curcic and I remember my Uncle ( A villa AND Leicester fan, I know... How is it possible? ) Used to pronounce it Sasa Churchich.
MPH Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Don't we pay the loan off each month though for a set number of years? Say like 50k a month for 15+ years? If we were paying it off monthly then we would surely have payed nearly half of it off now. Maybe not though Someone has been playing too much football manager 2010 And on player names, I remember David Pleat pronouncing Joachim's name 3 different ways in one game once...God help him with this one!

If we were paying it off monthly then we would surely have payed nearly half of it off now. Maybe not though we're just paying off the interest not the actual loan, unless we get promoted. If we do go up I'd like the 1st thing the club do is to buy the ground outright ans that is the vast majority of the debt and with that asset other creditors are less likely to start kicking off

There is a season review video in the early 90's where the commentator calls him Julian Go-Jim!
leicesterseddon Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 We're in £26 m pounds' worth of debt almost exclusively because of the stadium. We'll need 3-4 seasons in the Premier League to pay it off completely. And to be honest, we may sign 4 more players, but every one will either be on laon or a free agent. Can't see it any other way at the minute unless we get new investors.
MPH Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 You are spot on mate FM addict through and through. Just a lucky guess... i have hardly played it much...
MPH Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 There is a season review video in the early 90's where the commentator calls him Julian Go-Jim! Perish the thought that someone could of shown some intelligence back then... but you'd think someone might of thought of asking him if they were really THAT unsure!
andy_croydz Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 There is a season review video in the early 90's where the commentator calls him Julian Go-Jim! That bloke who did the Pro Evo 6 commentary, can't remember this name now, he commentated on the Cardiff vs Leicester Play Off 2nd leg and he pronounced Kermorgant as ker-morgant , I always thought it was pronounced Kermagant.

MPH Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 The worst one was Hoo-lee-ano Wack-eem What a div. I think the problems with pronouncing his name then started rumours that he was 1/2 brazillian or something!!
AaronH Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I really hope one of these players is robert koren, think he could really add something to the side and then we could give gally a run up top
Babylon Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 26 million?! How much of that is the stadium? Well we still owed over £14m on it when he took over I think. Something Doesn't add up... £14m+ owed on stadium 2006-07 - Loss of £5.43m 2007-08 - Loss of £14.2m 2008-09 - Loss of £6.2m
Poody57 Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Freebies - We want freebies transfer wise - get in Marlon King or Harewoodwe need some strength up front
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Freebies - We want freebies transfer wise - get in Marlon King or Harewoodwe need some strength up front You must be joking?
Flynny Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Well we still owed over £14m on it when he took over I think. Something Doesn't add up... £14m+ owed on stadium 2006-07 - Loss of £5.43m 2007-08 - Loss of £14.2m 2008-09 - Loss of £6.2m Mandaric was obligated to inject a certain amount of cash when he took over, which is why he got the club on the cheap, another reason we should be hugely grateful to the consortium even after they've sold back to an owner. Also I imagine we'll have paid an amount off the 'mortgage' too. Dunno why those cash injections don't show up on the profit/loss estimates but maybe someone who can do accounting might have a reason.
Stadt Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Well i'd rather the consortium pay off the debt before signing players atleast then we can relax a bit then.

It was a condition of coming out of administration that the club transferred the freehold of the ground to Teachers Pension Fund and we then paid rent based on our league status with an option to buy the ground back from Teachers Pension Fund.

I think that's about right unfortunately whilst we're outside the Premier our payments make no impact on the debt owed, in fact it could actually be getting bigger. I doubt anyone taking over will be interested in paying it off either as I'm sure if they have £20+ mill to invest it will go on trying to get us promoted as that is the only way they'll see a return on their investment. There's no fundamental problem in having your business premises mortgaged many organisations do it to enable them to invest any money in their core business thus ensuring a profit. The problem we have is we can't afford the repayments because it would seem who ever (Elsom?) agreed to the original mortgage arrangements didn't foresee us outside the Premier League and had the same attitude to players wages with no clause in there in the event of relegation.
hackneyfox Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Freebies - We want freebies transfer wise - get in Marlon King or Harewoodwe need some strength up front Marlon King is doing time for slapping a woman. His 14th offence, most being car involved. I don't want anyone like that anywhere near my club.

I thought the loan was cancelled and Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association - College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) took the freehold and charged rent. I've searched on this site and Google and most references state that TIAA own the freehold. Wikipedia states the same but as we all know any idiot can post unsubstantiated facts on that site. References were made to TIAA owning the ground when the ground share with Tigers cropped up. Anyway, this has little to do with the thread title! Roll on news of some new signings!
