Why have we got a clown in goal

Everyone moaning about Logan should shut the fook up and start talking about the real problems in our team - defence and attack.

well said , how sad are we all to blame logan , when we all know the whole team yet again put in a poor perfomance, and are we ever gonna score from a corner .

I don't understand why Conrad was playing.

Weale is our No.1, he's just come back from injury and could have done with the match practice, surely?

No keeper is infallible, but how many gaffes like that did Wealo make last season? The one at Derby...how many others, in 40-odd games? He may never make a regular Premier League keeper, perhaps lacking a bit of agility and reach...but inspires confidence and is a good Championship (or better) keeper. Conrad can make some great saves, but is not consistent enough.

Sorry but I've been spoiled over the years, I have seen two of the worlds best in Banks and Shilton.

Wallington was IMO underated, I thought he was very good, then of course we had Ian Walker for a spell.

Personally I think Chris Weale is a decent enough keeper for this division.

I have never rated Logan however, after tonights blunder I just wonder how long he will remain at the club. (Despite some of his past good performances)

If you are aiming for the Premiership and to stay there, a class goalkeeper is a must.

I'm sure he has managed one or two but I can't remember a Logan clean sheet. It seems we've only been accustomed to watching highlights of him, fat and thin, shouting angrily with the ball in the net behind him.

Logan just isn't good for us anymore.

Time we move on to better quality keepers and time he moves on too. League One and below is unfortunately his level.

I'm sure Sven and Derek will be looking at other targets swiftly.

Chris Kirkland is unsettled at Wigan and hasnt played many games at all......

only played 3 games.....

yeah and he was shocking in the 1st 2 then got injured AGAIN

Alan Young said on the radio that he was blocked off for the second and should have been given a foul.

I disagree, there was no block, the player and keeper went for the ball, Conrad didb't look comfortable comming out for anything and he flapped and dropped it!!

Conrad, isn't a ba keeper but he's not going the ability to challenge Weale, his kicking is poor, he doesn't command the box, and lately is becomming a liability. We need a keeper who is gonna challenge Weale and keep him on his toes!!!

conrad logan, awful choice, surly sven knew this, did he not see the pompey game??? is being the clubs longest serving player a reason we should keep him???

and i guess sven will have to wait for the play-off's for his 'wembley dream'

Think Joe Lewis of Peterborough would be a good signing. We could quite easily prose him away from their grasp and it was only a few seasons ago that he was being linked with Premier League teams.

Sven should have taken him off there and then, destroyed him in front of 17000 people for another appalling episode in the career of Conrad Logan, 20 goals he's let in this season, 20 fookin goals.

He should have been fooked off out the club when he turned up on a match day looking like that.

All I can say is anyone who considers Conrad Logan a 'clown' is an absolute cunt of indescribable proportions. A keeper who has stuck with the club despite being constantly made to stay in the reserves / subs for seasons on end, who always performs diligently and pretty consistently when he's called upon, someone who's never said or done anything to rile supporters off the pitch... to be saying he's shit just because he doesn't get many games (or even worse, because he made ONE bad mistake) stinks of ignorance about the world of football to me.

If ANYONE thinks he's a bad goalkeeper because of his mistake yesterday, then I assume you also think Peter Shilton was a shocking keeper, along with Van Der Sar, Petr Cech, Casillas etc. Because all those ****ers have committed way more than one horrendous error in their careers, and for some reason people have always been slow to get on their backs...

Looks like Staurt Taylor based on the 5Taylor BM spotted and the Man City link.

Mixed emotions about Logan, good but not good enough, we basically have a prem defence now once sorted, he's not or ever will be that standard of a keeper and neither is Wheale.

Keepers need to play and are usually less fussed about what level, on a bench out field players have a chance of coming on, keepers have to 'hope' that the keeper is injured.

Desperate for a good CF and a good GP, I understand there is instant recall on a loan keeper? why not aim high, Shay Given and an Heskeyesque player and we would be a different side.

Because the rest of the time there world class for club and country, to put Logan in some sort of comparassment with them Goalkeepers is a bit of joke.

I'm not saying he Is a clown because of one mistake and if you look carefully this thread was started backed in the Sousa era way back when the season started .

So yes I'm saying he is a clown but for many shit games and the ultimate clanger against brom I give him many kudos for staying at the club but to be fair he's shit he doesn't deserve the number 1 shirt I would much prefer someone else have it.

So all in all he is shit and has blew his many chances while weale was out I mean look at his played to conceded ratio this season .

The main weakness of Logan is his positioning.

He comes off his line too much when he really doesn't need to. Case example is the goal Pompey scored when he made 2, albeit excellent, saves. He came off his line when he was surrounded by Pompey players left right and centre and had Leicester defenders ahead of him, that left a massive space for Davis (I think) to score.

He also has a knack of rushing to the near post when a winger is about to cross, the goal is then gaping and he isn't quick enough to get back into the middle of the goal.

Shouldn't Stowell be advising him on things like this? It's basic stuff.

Logan reminds me of that time six years ago when we had Kevin Pressman in goal for us for a brief spell, brought in by Micky Adams. In fact it was a very brief spell as it was around the time when Micky Adams departed shortly after the start of the relegated-to-the-Championship season of 2004-05. Even so, even a "past it" Pressman of 2004 was better than what Logan has been so far this season when he's been thrown in at the deep end, as is Carl Ikheme.....!
