Fryatt or Zayatte?

Rumours have been circulating for a while regarding Fryatts future. Mentioned in the BBC gossip column today over possible swap for Hull defender Zayatte. Who would you rather have at the club? It's obvious we need a defender but I think Sousa should go for Shittu and keep Fryatt here. If Fryatt has handed in a transfer request he is welcomed to leave and Zayatte coming in would solve our central defender shortage. However, I don't think Howard will score 10 goals this year, Gallagher has the ability but he's a on/off performer. Crncic is keeping the bench warm which leaves Waghorn with all the pressure. Matty Fryatt has a job to do at City even if he isn't everyones favourite he's a foward you can trust to score at least 10 league goals this year. Personally I want him to stay!

I still laugh when people tellfryatt to fook off. Top Scorer last two years, and then Sousa drops him for DJ, who has dome nothing but bith and moan about this club.

Sousa has treated Fryatt like shit, you can't blame him for waiting out, he deserves so much better than what he is getting!!

From BBC Gossip........

Hull manager Nigel Pearson wants to raid former club Leicester for striker Matty Fryatt and swap him for Tigers centre-back Kamil Zayatte.

Full story: The Mirror

He may well be unhappy. He may well have handed in a transfer request. Fact is we don't have anybody who can fill his boots yet.

Waghorn is a start.

Big Steve can barely do 90 minutes once a week - and in fairness we don't have a striker who can win the ball from goal kicks like he can - the big man replacement.

If Fryatt goes out on loan then in all honesty we are left looking for two new strikers to have any depth in squad needed to hold down a place in the top ten.

Let's hope there is some quality in the pipeline.

Fryatt is okay but still a seriously limited striker in so many ways. We'll adapt to his departure - at least we ought to!

We were after a striker on deadline day as well as waghorn. So i guess is we'll also see a striker come in on loan allowing fryatt to move.

Goalscorers are the hardest commodity to find in football.

Fryatt was very potent in the first half of last season when he played alongside Waghorn, we already let Campbell go, so for me this is a big no no.

i wouldn't claim to know anything about zayette - but he hardly screams class pedigree.

but, as others have said, if fryatt wants to go, fair enough.

i really can't conceive how our best striker since god knows when and one of our longest serving players, who was linked to a move to the prem, can be worth the same as a defender from a champ side who no one has ever heard of...

if it's a swap, i'd be very disappointed if no additional money was paid.

fryatt must be worth at least what we paid for waghorn (i read 3M), no champ defender is worth that much.

This is from the Mirror, the same paper that said he was going on transfer deadline day.... how did that one work out? They are just recycling stories.

Perhaps he would have done if we'd have clinch the Zayatte deal which has proved to be correct with us just running out of time on the deadline day.dunno.gif

Madness.

Zayatte looks like he might be a decent signing but letting Fryatt go makes no sense at all. He's settled here and a big fan favourite. Even if he's become unhappy it's Sousa's job to work with him and let him know he's valued. After his injury last year he just needs to reestablish himself, get another good year under his belt and he'd be looking at a prem move if he decided he wanted to leave. Going to Hull is a sideways move at best and probably backwards in terms of potential. Makes no sense for him and certainly no sense for us.

Surely we aren't going to make the same mistake as last year and loan out a goalscorer to one of our rivals?

I like Fryatt and I find it hard to believe he has handed in a transfer request. He seems like a nice lad and always comes across as genuine in his desire to do well for th club. I'll be very pissed off if he goes, especially to hull.

Just read the article and it seems a straight swap would value Fryatt at 1million? How can a deal like that even be given the time of day when we turned down 2.5 for him 12 months ago???

This'd be like us going to sunderland during the Waghorn deal

"I tell you what, we'll do a straight swap, Hobbs for Waghorn"

It's not going to happen, but if it does, were getting our pants pulled down.

Why would we do this swap deal? It doesn't make sense. Okay, we need a defender, but why let a striker go?

Unless Fryatt is seriously disillusioned at the club he won't play for us again I can't see the logic behind it.

If anyone remembers I mentioned this the other day in the zayette thread but I was apparently talking bollocks

To be fair to you, yes you did !!

smug git, haha

We can always find solid defenders that'll do a decent job, but it's a lot harder to find players like fryatt who will get you a goal every other game. I'm in no way against bringing zayatte in, but not at the expense of fryatt.

look fryatt is good dont get me wrong but i think most people are just too attached to him. he could easily be replaced with players like vaughan who is looking for another loan exit with a deal to sign on permanent for a championship club.
