Just seen him wondering around asda shopping, asked him about how he was getting on at wolves, and he said he wants to move as mccarthys a willy puller and they don't get along, he said he'd love to come back here. I told him he was crap and he wouldn't get in our team, he laughed his head off and replied "I'm better than that fooking neilson". Hero !

People seem to forget that Stearman wasn't exactly brilliant when he was here. Don't know if he now plays CB more often than not nowadays, but at right back all he ever did was take one touch and kick it down the line, usually to nobody. Wouldn't be to impressed if he is the sort of player we attract now we have millions.

I agree with you he wasn't very good player however the whole team was shit then.

Personally I always rated Stearman. It just happens that he was that season's scapegoat. He was sold for over a million so he couldn't have been that bad.

I'd have Robbie Neilson over Stearman.

To be fair I've not really seen him at Wolves, he might have improved no end. But I thought he was a fucking terrible full back. Used to bomb forward, do that retarded Stearman "Cruyff" turn that vaguely resembled an oil tanker trying to turn and then invariably just gave the fucking ball away miles out of his position. Clown.

One of our most overrated players in the last few years.

1st season he broke into the first team he was brilliant, one of our best players of the season (Best of a bad bunch though really), after that 1 brilliant season he turned awful, wasn't too sad to see him go - Looked real potential after his first season after that showed nothing, that was the annoying part - We knew how good he could be but it seemed he couldn't really be bothered, as i've always said if there is a player with huge potential and that we know can play well but he's not showing it, what's the point in having him?!

I'd like Stearman back, I thought he was a decent player. Also scored a couple and could be a threat from a corner.

As for hoofing the ball forward too much, to be fair to him he didn't really have a midfield to pass to!

I remember being gutted when he left (although that was in part due to being relegated)

He was a bit like Hume, people liked him but only because he was the best of a bad bunch at the time. Wouldn't specifically like him back but if he did come back I wouldn't be upset at it as he isn't that bad.

I remember him best for his short long throws :giggle:

In all seriousness though he wasn't a bad player at all and if he came back I wouldn't be unhappy

WEBBO FOR MOD!

:lei1: bernie's backing the campaign, are you??

If the owners are prepared to splash the cash as they say they are (talk is cheap) then we need to be looking for better than Stearman, he isn't shit but he's hardly that good either.

Richard Stearman is a CB by trade, but was stuck out on the right due to us having two other solid centre backs at the time. Similar to Michael Morrison last year - shoved out on the right in favour of Wayne Brown and Jack Hobbs.

Isn't Stearman a Leicester fan although born in Wolverhampton?

Always rated him when he played for us. Got a lot of unnecessary stick if I remember right.

Not sure we need him though as Vitor looks like he could do a job at RB and we've got Neilson and Lamey backup, plus not forgetting Morrison can also play in that position. Think we need to move players out before bringing them in or else we'll end up with unhappy players and a large wage bill.
