Kent Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 "Vichai Raksriaksorn has told the BBC, he wants promotion for #LCFC to the Premier League THIS season and happy to fund it." Pressure much?
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 tbh this is only realistic if we had spent properly during the summer. talk about trying to burden the players.
Raj Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 "Vichai Raksriaksorn has told the BBC, he wants promotion for #LCFC to the Premier League THIS season and happy to fund it." Pressure much? No pressure then? Let the rollercoaster ride begin.
MrSpaM Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 "Vichai Raksriaksorn has told the BBC, he wants promotion for #LCFC to the Premier League THIS season and happy to fund it." Pressure much? I noticed this one too, he seemed dead set on getting us to the premiership THIS year. I'm a little concerned as to what might happen if we don't go up I like our new owners, they seem to want whats best for the club, but i get the feeling they'll have no hesitation in just selling us on if it dosn't work.
cambridgefox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 As my mum used to say"those that want, dont always get" This worries me a tad, showing their lack of knowledge of football in this league. If it was as easy as throwing a bit of money at it .Perhaps in jan when we have the money, and see our league position at that time,we can then speculate.Do you agree?

Yeh they probably don't know mch about football, but that is why Manderic is still around and they have employed a very well know and respected coach. It's Sven's job along with his assistants to get the results, it's the Thai fella's job to Bankroll it
Finnegan Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 But if you try sometimes, you'll find, you get what you need!
xplicitmaterial Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 We will do it. A nice streak of 5 wins starting with hull on sat i think would see us in a playoff position
Raj Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 "Vichai Raksriaksorn has told the BBC, he wants promotion for #LCFC to the Premier League THIS season and happy to fund it." Pressure much? In Kents Sig thing, our "new Owner' looks like he should be at School. He should stay silent as nothing he says can be taken seriously until he proves he has pubes!!!
Houdini Logic Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I want promotion this year as well. It's not like he's saying he's going to sell our club and execute our players if it doesn't happen
Kent Posted 14 October 2010 Author Posted 14 October 2010 In Kents Sig thing, our "new Owner' looks like he should be at School. He should stay silent as nothing he says can be taken seriously until he proves he has pubes!!! The thing is though, Vichai is the one who has supposedly said this to the BBC and that's the other one, his dad! I don't really know what to make of it. It's good in one way because it shows ambition and willingness to invest money but I just hope they don't come to 'expect' promotion this season.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 But if you try sometimes, you'll find, you get what you need! Next you'll be saying that they should paint the stadium black! The worrying thing (for me) is that it shows up our owners' probable lack of understanding of English football.
AmyLGK Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 foxblogger has put on twitter that "in the 3 pts for a win era no side has been promoted to the top flight having taken just 8 points from the first 10 games". Maybe the new owners should be made aware of this!!!

Zingari Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Did Frank Sinatra sing "High Hopes" for nothing ? lets have some PMA
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 What a stupid thing to say. Whats more stupid is that we keep going on about how much we have to spend. Prices of anyone we want to buy are always going too be far too high now.
Thracian Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 "Vichai Raksriaksorn has told the BBC, he wants promotion for #LCFC to the Premier League THIS season and happy to fund it." Pressure much? It is this sort of moronic comment that makes our club and its leadership sound ridiculous. It's psychologically stupid and, in any case, serves no purpose whatsoever. All such a comment does is place a ridiculous burden on the players and management while providing additional incentive for every opponent, both on and off the pitch.

acooling08 Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 If we DON'T get promoted (likely), then will Sven be sacked?
bettso Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 As my mum used to say"those that want, dont always get" This worries me a tad, showing their lack of knowledge of football in this league. If it was as easy as throwing a bit of money at it .Perhaps in jan when we have the money, and see our league position at that time,we can then speculate.Do you agree? No. Genuine ambition is something that we've been lacking ever since I can remember. When MM came in and said 'I'll back the manager to get to the premier league', it was all bullshit. These guys have genuine money, clout and influence. They clearly know how to make money, have a clear vision of how they want the club to progress and have clear ambition which has been showed by hiring one the best managers available to anyone and have given him the green light to spend. Obviously in January we'll see if the money is there but the loan players already muted (Kyle Naughton, Jason Roberts) are far and away above the standard of player we've previously signed (with the exception of Waghorn). There is nothing wrong at all with saying they want promotion this year. From our position it will be tough but not impossible. Keane achieved it with Sunderland and Dowie achieved it with Crystal Palace. Having a direct chairman sometimes is not helpful (Alan Sugar, Simon Jordan, Thaksin Shinawatra) but these guys seem to have a different aura about them. They dont seem to be brash or arrogant. They seem genuinly grateful for the life they have earned for themselves and seem genuinly ambitious where it comes to our club. Of course there are many who are waiting for this to fall apart and with so many other examples thats perfectly understandable but until a crack appears, there's no point getting the filler out.
The Padster Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 But then there's this quote. Sven-Goran Eriksson, who has revealed he has been told by the Raksriaksorns that he can have whatever cash he needs to get the club into the Premier League in the next couple of seasons.
Ric Flair Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Nowt wrong with what's been said. Promotion this season seems highly unlikely given our opening 10 games, but under Sven if he get's it right then there's every chance we can be one of the best teams in this league and slip in through the back door. Sven's worked under higher expectations before and succeeded, I think he'll love the announcement from the Thai's. He knows he's got a few quid to play with and other than breasts and a tidy clunge, there's nothing more he likes doing than blowing some cash on players.
