Sven Goran Eriksson is ready to raid former club Manchester City to sign keeper Stuart Taylor.

The new Leicester boss wants 29-year-old Taylor to join on emergency loan with a view to a permanent January move.

Eriksson said: We have to go higher in the table and can strengthen by bringing players in on loan before January.

yea they seem to have been the ones with some insider information so far..

also with the s taylor reg car supposedly spotted at the walkers,,,

dont see why they would have extended ikmes load deal though unless logan will be going

If this is with a view to a permanent, it'd be an absolutely fantastic deal, Weale is the only 'keeper at the club even half decent and he's seemed to be a bit erratic over the past six months or so. Ikeme and Logan can both sod off.

@Jimmy, look at the clubs he's been at when not out on loan. Hardly a surprise he's gotten so few league games when he's had Seaman, Lehmann, Friedel, Given etc for competetion. Seems happy to be an understudy, doesn't mean he's useless. Remember him being pretty handy here a few years back.

yeah but when someone if that age and always been an understudy I have to question whether they really want it enough, he could of moved at any point to a championship side and gotten 1st team football

I went to reply to it before the edit that said his phone wouldn't upload it, originally it just stated he'd seen a link

Doesn't make them a poor footballer though, which is what you implied in the first instance.

As long as they perform I'm not fussed either way.

no I said there's a reason for it, personal motivation is as big a factor, if not bigger, in players making it to the top of their game and makes them want to constantly improve, even if it means taking a step backwards in order to move forward in the longer term.

He chose to go to Villa knowing Friedle would be 1st choice, he also chose to go to Man City when they had BOTH Shay Given & Joe Hart, which makes me wonder if he really wants to be a footballer or like Hidetoshi Nakata admitted after he retired, he was just going through the motions

if you look at the times, you actually posted after his edit was done..

doesnt really matter anyway :)

That'd be a very good move. Taylor's got the right age for a goalkeeper, just about to enter his prime.

Weale, as much as I like the guy and regardless of his sometimes brilliant performances last season, is still prone to the odd error.

(Having said that, a goalkeeper is only as good as the defenders in front of him.)

Still, should this signing happen, it'd create a healthy competition for a starting spot.

Now, just make sure Logan goes out on loan, Sven.
