Lillehamring Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Daily Mail Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Michael Rensing on trial with Leicester By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 12:27 AM on 30th October 2010 Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Michael Rensing is going on trial with ambitious Leicester City. The 26-year-old former Germany U21 international has been without a club since leaving Bayern in the summer and is a free agent. He has had interest from Premier League sides but has been tempted by Sven Goran Eriksson's blueprint for Leicester who re-signed another goalkeeper Carl Ikeme from Wolves on Friday on a month's loan.
StanSP Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I like the sound of this. But another keeper, seriously?
lcfc_jme Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 lol no way?! Bayern Munich to struggling 2nd division side??!? SURELY he could play at a higher level?? EDIT: That's not to say I wouldn't take him without consideration, mind!!
ajthefox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Don't really know of him but it sounds promising. Does seem weird though that Ikeme's loan has been extended, I would've thought it would be easy enough to give the guy a trial then if he's not good enough get Ikeme back. I don't imagine Sven has any confidence in Logan at all..
J.Lisemore Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 This would be an amazing signing if we got this bloke.
Christoph Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Well if this is actually true then fairplay because the guy could get to a much better side than us haha, Sven is the man
Ajax Treesdown Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Rensing Sky Rensing He was wanted by Celtic, West Ham and Wigan 2 weeks back. Good solid goalkeeper, who I would replace Weale with.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Sven has seen how shit Logan is and knows Ikeme isn't with us forever.
Lord Fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Have a quick look - Doesn't look to bad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNFroksDBC0
Lord Fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 + = Spuff myself dry. Excuse my ignorance, but I don't recognise the guy next to Rensing who is he?
Cropwellfox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Would be absolutely immense if we managed to sign this guy He was first choice for much of the season a couple of years ago for Bayern under Klinsmann, and started last year as Nr.1 under Van Gaal before falling out of favour. He spent a lot of time as understudy to Kahn, and (statto alert) Bayern were unbeaten in Rensing's first 27 matches for them. Spent 2 years as the uncontested keeper in the German under 21 side, and is very highly thought of over in Germany. Struggling to understand why he wasn't picked up by another Bundesliga club during the summer, and coincidientally they were talking about him on ESPN last night during the Bayern game talking about how Celtic are chasing him If there's any substance to this and we manage to get hin on board, this isn't a case of 'yet another keeper', this is somebody who is a clear top flight-class number 1.
!-LCFC-! Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 michael rensing is a great keeper..would be great if we managed to sign him!!!
Zingari Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 i don't like the look of him , he's got that arrogant teutonic unrepentant look in his eyes
buzzy Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 at last a proper goalkeeper 1st or 2nd choice .hopefully we sign him and then we can say goodbye to logan who is a complete plank and always has been from the start of his leicester days
dave_the_fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Shit the bed we are being linked with some beauts at the minute!
Lord Fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Roque Santa Cruz Oh yeah.. what a tw@t I am - cheers Wurmer
The Padster Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 It looks like Santa Cruz has tits in that shirt. The shining of the light makes it looks like he's packing some serious C cups under that thing.
Bryn Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Seriously? A class above at this level, would be a top signing which I reckon would tide us over right through any promotion or even European push. We simply wouldn't have to worry about signing a new keeper for years, I can't believe we're even wasting time trialing him.
Webbo Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Rumours like this always worry me. I think to myself If he's that good why is he being linked with us?
Zingari Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Rumours like this always worry me. I think to myself If he's that good why is he being linked with us? that sounds like the old Groucho Marx quote, " I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member "
body102 Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 This would be a quality signing , think Weale would have to push him for no.1 spot . My missus would be happy too , as she came out with the typical woman comment ' HE IS FIT '
