Scrappy 1 goal victories. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Exactly what got us to the playoffs under Pearson.

Excellent stuff. 3 points in the bag.

And now within just 7 points of the playoffs. A ok position i feel considering the start. Roll on Barnsley next week. A win could take us above them.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. We got some scrappy 1 goal victories but we had some very good performances too.

But like you say a wins a win especially when we are in this position in the league.

Hopefully after a few more wins we'll be more confident and start to play better. Confidence is the key - I'm not going to believe Waghorn and Weale have become bad players overnight.

I think people are being a tad harsh on waghorn today. Not only was he up against a rock solid defender, but a defender who will know waggy inside out.

I thought waggy did quite well against brown, put himself about even sat brown on his arse with his strength at one point. Can't say the team helped waggy's cause by jumping up long balls to him, brown's one of the best defenders in the league in the air.

lol we were only 8 points off when Sven took over. We've hardly come on leaps and bounds in terms of league position.

That should take all of 30 seconds.. lol

30 seconds.. we didnt even get 10 on the football league show!!!!

thought maneesh was a leicester fan...

Not even that, they only showed the goal. Bloody BBC too busy bumming the Lambs

That's the first time I have ever seen them show just the goal on any match in any league. They could have at least shown a couple of the near misses for either side.

That takes the piss

Regardless of who he supports I doubt he has much say on how much coverage each team gets. His job is just to present and give Steve permission to get his sway on.

we were always last and got next to zero air time the last time we were on motd. so not exactly true.

Good result and never really troubled by PNE despite a woeful performance by Weale doing his best to gift them a goal. Vitor was immense and showed he was different class as was Abe who oozed international class and is going to be a great asset for city. Hobbs still way off form and confidence starting with his slip in the first minute that should have been 1-0 PNE - shocking. Hopefully Davies back in defence next game along with Vitor for an unbeatable combination. Fryatt not interested, unfit, and looking nothing more than a league 1 player as was Waghorn unfotunately. Put a 3 million price tag on the head of a young lad and it has obviously affected him which is understandable. Send him out on loan to get his confidence and goal scoring back and he could still be a good player for us.

So get rid of the waste - nguessan Oakley Morrison Kennedy Logan and bring in a goalkeeper (rensing?) and quality striker and alls good so well done Sven

Couldn't be at the match. Glad we got the three points AND a clean sheet. Hopefully, the wins will now flock in. Preferrably continuing with Barnsley away.

the blue lens glasses are out again ! we were poor yesterday , just lucky that preston are worse . we aren't going to get to the play-offs playing like that and winning the play-offs is miles away , it was just a very thin stepping stone beating a poor preston side, lets be honest . clean sheet was the only thing we can take out the game . not on a downer but watched the match in reality mode .they are crap !!!!!

Or you could argue that since Mr Sousa has gone we are in play off form, check the stats we would be 6th so not that far from play offs as you may think. Oh and my glasses are rose tinted

Wasn't pretty. In fact one of the poorest games I've watched all season. But its about restoring a fractured squad confidence and getting some momentum. Our fitness is being shown up in a highly competitive division. Sven knows the score as illustrated in his interviews, he's picked out two players for praise who've either been in poor form or struggled with the culture difference. Lets see why we are come Christmas....got an ideal month to build a platform.
