Jon25747 Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale - 5.5 - Wasn't really tested but looked uncomfortable with clearances. Naughton - 7 - Good attacking option and took on players well Hobbs - 7 - Strong and rarely tested but did what was required of him Vitor - 8.5 - Footballing centre back who looked calm and controlled Cunningham - 6.5 - Didn't get forward as much as Naughton but looked steady Abe - 7.5 - Good passing and vision. Seems to be getting more comfortable with the English game Wellens - 7.5 - Played in a role which I think he is meant for. Gritty tackles and simple passing. King - 6.5 - One of his quieter games and almost cost a goal with a stray pass but other than that he was good. Gallagher - 7.5 - Well taken goal and some good movement but his corners and crosses lacked quality. Fryatt - 5.5 - Too many touches of the ball meant he squandered good opportunities and lost the ball too often. Waghorn - 5.5 - Never really got in the game, so I cant comment other than that. SUBS: Howard - 6 - Scared the PNE defence and brought others into the game. N'Guessen - 6 - A lot of energy and some good movement, always a bit of an enigma to me. Wellens - 8 Another good game King - 7.5 Not his best game. Gallagher - 8 One of his better games especially first half. Fryatt - 6.5 Worked hard, didn't get many chances. Waghorn -6.5 Slightly worse than Fryatt. SUBS:Howard -6 N'Guessen - 6 Glad to see get a chance upfront but to be fair didn't do a lot. TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 5.8 - Scared me. He has gone down hill alot. Rushing out when its the defenders ball, then clearing it to the other team leaving the goal open Naughton - 8 Got foward well, Pacey right back Vitor - 9 Good center half good, Brilliant at aerial and on the floor Hobbs - 7 He is slowly getting back to the usual hobbs Cunningham - 8 Same as naughton, Fast Gallagher - 8 Brillaint display, And rounded it off with a goal King - 7 Not his best, But captained the team well Wellens - 7 Needs to get foward abit more Abe - 8 But still think the wing is not his best position Fryatt - 6.7 Good pressure, No goals Waghorn - 6.7 Same as fryatt SUBS: Howard - 6 Didnt see him much, But created a few chances N'Guessan - 6 Not a foward, The wing is for him Oakley - N/S Was on for a minute and got booked

Wellens - 8 Solid and worked hard for the team King - 7 Good performance . Gallagher - 8 Better , just wish he would leave the free kicks alone. Fryatt - 6.5 Worked hard, but dallies on ball a bit too much when has chanceto shoot. Waghorn -5 Did't seem quite with it today . SUBS:Howard -6 Actually gave Brown something to think about N'Guessen - 4 If could actually stay onside might have scored Oakley - 5 did what was needed but not on long enuf to warrant higher mark
Guest ttfn Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 5 - clean sheet flattered him. Terrible kicking and flapped at cross after cross Naughton 7- exciting going forward, ok defensively. Hobbs/Vitor 8 - a right pair of 8ers Cunningham 6 - unconvinced Abe 7.5 - classy Wellens 7.5 - battled hard and wasted possession less than usual King 6 - wasteful on the ball but worked hard Gallagher 8 - good finish Fryatt 6 - some nice touches but looked unfit. Woeful volley Waghorn 6.5 - worked hard and got into some great positions. Shit finishing. Howard wasn't much good, n'guessan was shit.
lcfcsnow Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 5 Preston were shocking but he tried his best to gift them a goal at least 3 times! Naughton 7.5 Hobbs 7 if Preston scored from that slip in the first minute it'd have been a different game, much better though on his preferred side of defence. Vitor 9 faultless performance, extremely impressed. Cunningham 7.5 better option than berner, some great tackles and unlucky not to score. Abe 7.5 first time i've seen him play well, still not sure he's a right winger though? Wellens 7 King 7 kept things ticking over but not much of a threat, would have liked to see him push forward instead of bringing N'Guessan/Howard on. Gallagher 7.5 Fryatt 6 decent hold up play but just doesn't look right, i'm sure he's still wearing different footwear that Sousa suggested. Waghorn 6 awful finish in the first half and not much of a threat Howard, N'Guessan, Oakley - all useless to us and need to be shown the door. Good sold performance today just nothing up front. Simmo86 Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale - 6 Need a keeper asap! Naughton - 7 Steady game, looks comfortable under pressure. Hobbs - 7 Getting back to his best Vitor - 9 MOM. Beast Cunningham - 7 Steady like Naughton. Should have scored Abe - 8 Never stopped running, great movement and can pick a pass! Ship him back to Japan!! Wellens - 7 Typical Wellens performance, solid, worked hard. No hollywood balls came off though King - 7 Quiet but still quality Gallagher - 7 Getting better, more of a last season performance. Fryatt - 6 Worked hard outside the box, but just needs to have a pop. Waghorn - 6 Not his best, should of done better with his chance in the first half. Held the ball up well though . SUBS:Howard -6 Put himself about. Didnt look like scoring. N'Guessen - 5 Should of stayed onside when first put through, wasnt offside second time. wakeyfox01 Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale - 6 - Looked like he was trying too hard to make an impression today after all the speculatiom of new keepers coming in. Was trying to sweep up everything which resulted in a couple of dodgy kciks to striaght to Preston players where a better team may have punished us. Other than that came and claimed a couple of crosses and didn't have any saves to make. Naughton - 7 - Steady performance got forward well and is comfortable knocking the ball about, but too often didn't look confident to take on Davidson even though he could easily outpace him. Worked well with Abe. Hobbs - 7 - Much more like the Hobbs I remember, winning headers and looking composed on the ball and playing good balls forward. Vitor - 9 - Had Hume and Barton in his pocket, unlike most defenders when he goes in for a tckle he always seems to come out with the ball at his feet and find a pass. Can spot a pass as well, looked a class above. Cunningham - 8 - Didn't know what to expect from him but was very impressed. He had one run in particular where hea played a one-two with Gally then carried on forward and was unlucky not to score with the ball just going wide and the keeper beaten. Very rarely did their winger get passed him and he looks very confident at bringing it forward and taking players on. Abe - 9 - Didn't stop chasing and closing down their players. Oozes with quality when on the ball, his pass to Gallagher was sublime and the vision to even spot him was top class. Had a good go at taking on players as well and once he settles more he will be a great asset to us. Wellens - 7 - Mixed bag from Ritchie today. His 'quarterback' position really suits him and allows him to spread the play and gives him the time to spot a pass he also put in a number of good tackles. At times though he looked for the killer pass when it wasn't always on and got a bit sloppy later on, but he put in a good shift. King - 6 - Don't really remember him doing too much today tbh, wasn't as involved as he could have been and was pretty sloppy with his passing. Kept making good runs in behind their defence though. Gallagher - 8 - A much improved performance today. Took his goal well and picked his spot with good composure when others would have rushed it. Worked well with Cunningham and Wellens in particular and at times the ball seemed to stick to his feet. He looked in a lot of pain when he got injured but it was good that he was able to walk off. Waghorn - 6 - Nothing seemed to come off for him today. Did well in the build up to the goal to bring the ball down and play it to Abe. Tried too many flicks when he had time to bring it down and they were uneccesary. Should probably have scored in the 1st half when the ball rebounded to him and he sliced it wide. Fryatt - 6 - Similar to Waghorn in that little deflections seemed to go against him, looked lively and prepared to take players on. Don't remember a chance being created for either of the strikers. Subs : Howard - 7 - Added a presence up front and allowed us to mix it up when we were sloppy in trying to play out of defence. Was unlucky with a header which the keeper palmed away and almost went in off King. Held the ball up well and won his headers as usual. N'Guessan - 7 - Looked lively and up for it when he came on. Made several really good runs and was constantly looking to get in behind. Was waiting for a tap in when King got through on the right but the cross was poor. Unlucky to be given offside after a ball in behind from King. Oakley - N/A - Didn't have time to make an impact, but got booked for a late challenge. The Doctor Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale - 5 - where on earth was he going? Vitor dug him out of trouble after a couple of seconds of the match and hobbs did similar the second time around (granted that second one was definately not on target). Naughton - 7.5 Hobbs - 8 Vitor - 9 Cunningham - 7.5 - much better than the last irish left back on loan from man city Abe - 8 - looked better but still not a winger King - 6.5 Wellens - 8 Gallagher - 8 Waghorn - 6 Fryatt - 6 subs howard - 6 N'Guessan 5.5 - ever heard of the offside rule danny? oakley - not on long enough for rating
lcfcsnow Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 oakley - not on long enough for rating He was, a 3 for that ridiculous tackle on in added time that Brown almost scored from. Father Ted Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 6 - Good job we weren't playing a good side today or we would have been hammered with him in goal. Had an off day and he came out more times today than he has all of his career and it nearly cost us! Naughton 6.5 - Solid game and some good link-up play with Abe. Hobbs 7 - Nearly cost us a goal straight from the kick off with an awful attempt of a tackle but apart from that anomaly, he was solid. Vitor 8 - Solid, won his headers and looked comfortable with the ball at his feet. Cunningham 7.5 - Very good, never backed out of a header and won them all, he was also eager to get forward and nearly scored. Abe 8 - Fantastic performance. Full of energy and looks as if he is finally settling in. King 6.5 - Quiet performance but at times looked a different player with the armband. Wellens 7 - Got stuck in and always looked to make a pass. Gallagher 7 - Got the decisive goal and after that looked much more confident. Fryatt 6 - Did nothing, when he got the ball, he would hold on to it for 10 seconds too long and then lay it off to the player he should have 10 seconds earlier. Too slow on the ball! Waghorn 6.5 - Better than Fryatt and looked to get involved. Subs: Howard 6.5 - Did very little but looked to really rattle Brown up. N'Guessan 6.5 - I really like to see him as a forward. Pace and power. Was also unlucky not to get through on goal as the women lino definitely got it wrong.
reynard Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 4 Lucky to get that rating. Truly inept performance considering how little he had to do, yet he nearly gifted them 3 goals. Naughton 8 Quality player with a good first touch and a good cross. Looks the best right back we have had for some time. Hobbs 6 Better but still looked uncertain though never really tested. A bad slip in the first minute should have resulted in a goal but fortunately they had worse strikers than us. Vitor 8.5 Very good performnace but with the proviso that he wasn't up against much. Looks comfortable on the ball. Cunningham 8 Very impressed. Again looked comfortable on the ball and has some pace. Tired a little towards the end but looks better than Berner at the moment. Abe 8 A solid performance, never stopped running and a great bit of play to set up the goal. Wellens 7.5 I thought he was pretty good today. Worked hard and didn't seem to run out of steam so much. Still frustrates by giving the ball away but controlled midfield for me. King 5.5 A distinctly average display. His first touch a times was simply awful with the ball often bouncing a couple of metres away from him, some good forward runs though. Gallagher 7 Very well taken goal and a good first half. Not so good in the second and his corners and free kicks were poor. Waghorn 5 Mainly for workrate but thought he was very average today. Fryatt 5 Similar to Waghorn but perhaps not even as good. Looks short of confidence and seems to have lost a yard of pace. Howard 5.5 Jumped around a bit but didn't offer a goal threat. N'Guessen 4 Not the desired quality, clueless as a striker. Oakley just one word Why?
Thracian Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 4 (Poor generally. Two of his miskicks might easily have resulted in goals against and he dropped a high ball into the box which might have cost us. The bloke just seems to lack the urgency he had last season). Naughton 7 (Apart from Preston almost scoring in the first few seconds Naughton showed the sort of drive in moving forward that I'd like to see from others when we win possession. But how he needed some support towards the end of the second half when the rest of the side had slipped into negative mode). Hobbs 6.5 (Okay but nothing special) Vitor 8 (Man of the match for me. Read the game, did the simple things, stayed strong when he had too, played the ball sensible out of defence. More please). Cunningham 6.5 (Aveerage sort of game but no great urgency). Abe 7 (Tidy assist for Gallagher's goal and as good as I've seen him play in terms of retaining possession and being involved. Still has a tendency to get caught in possession though) Wellens - 7.5 (Someone's been reading the scrip because played one-touch football when he could and resisted running into dead ends. Even had a shot which was refreshing. Best game for a while.) King 7.25 (Made some thoughtful passes first half and put two great low crosses into the box which were almost criminally wasted when they should have been certain goals for any decent predator. Was is usual available self. Also made some important defensive headers and helped hold things together in a more withdrawn roll later on. A bit careless with a couple of passes second half but would have enjoyed captaining the side to victory). Gallagher 7.25 (Another who finally read the script and hit the target. Excellent goal, well finished to secure what was an important win. Not impressed with his corners or free-kicks. We need better). Fryatt 4 (Started brightly enough and should have won a penalty. But the guy just plays on his own and I've no idea why any of his team-mates bother making themselves available for a pass from him. Ran into his usual cul-de-sacs and sadly, when he's not scoring, it's hard to see what he contributes, Wanted too many touches today and never really looked like scoring, particularly as the game wore on. We badly need two all-round strikers.). Waghorn 4,5 (Disappointing and his limitations are beginning to show. He's so one-footed and any defender who can keep him on his right foot is well on the way to neutralising the guy. Doesn't win much in the air and is not the best at controlling the ball and passing. Will need to improve lots to survive the Sven era). SUBS: Howard 5.5 (Made his presence felt but we badly need people to bust a gut getting onto the end of crosses and he doesn't seem to have it in him any longer.) N'Guessen 5 (As always he looks wasted on the wing where he just runs into people when he takes them on. I'd much rather see him use his strength and heading ability in the centre but, so far, can't see any way he'll survive the likely cull). Prospero Posted 30 October 2010 Share Posted 30 October 2010 Weale 6: His goal was not peppered with shots; seemed uncomfortable at times but one excellent save. Naughton 8: Very good running down the wing and was very cool and confident in attacking their players (although he gave the ball away a couple of times). Hobbs 7: Was first to the ball most of the time in defence and a very solid performance. Vitor 9: My man of the match, absolutely reliable, attacked from defence and challenged for the ball successfully whenever needed. Cunningham 6: Showed some class defending and trying to get forward, especially in his run and shot at goal that missed. Abe 7: Much sharper, generally passed and controlled the ball well and assisted Gallagher’s goal. Wellens 7: Strong contribution in tackling and passing well defensively and particularly when going forward when required. King 6: Captain this time around but did not see him trying to orchestrate the team performance to any degree, played well except for when he gave the ball away in a dangerous position. Gallagher 8: Always received and trapped the ball well, some very good positional play; not all his passes and attempts on goal were of a consistent quality but he did score the only goal! Fryatt 3: Sadly, not in the game, seemed to play behind the 1st striker and when he did get the ball was not strong enough to keep the ball and do anything nor aware enough of the players around him. Waghorn 4: Sadly, a weak performance again, unlike Fryatt he did go after the ball but was too easily pushed off it and he was not in the right place to receive the good crosses in front of goal. Howard 6: In the time allowed him he attacked the ball and worried their defence. N'Guessen 4: Looked like a strong, fast player but in time allowed never really made an impact. Oakley 2: Unfair to grade a brief cameo appearance but he did give the ball away and committed a bookable foul. Referee: Weak in refusing to see blatant fouls against us but had no impact on the result, which is as it should be.
