Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 1.2 m according to The Sun apparently That's about the size of Jon Stevenson
Alf Bentley Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Hmmm! Don't know him. Primarily a right back, it seems, so I wonder if that is confirmation that Kyle Noughton will be returning to Spurs in January? Ex-Liverpool youth, I believe, from same era as Hobbs, so maybe he knows Jackie boy....
Alf Bentley Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Forgot to add...was Huddersfield players' player of the season last year, which sounds promising...
hackneyfox Posted 15 November 2010 Author Posted 15 November 2010 From Bentleys: "This from a Huddersfield fan at work... Very good player. Quick, reliable defender, could do more going forward, but a star at L1 level. I think Player of the Year last season. Are you after him? We don't need to sell - quite the reverse, chairman still ploughing money in - so would take a big offer to force our hand." Actually sounds a lot like Naughton doesn't it." "According to my Terriers supporting friend, Lee Peltier is "the best right back we have had in years" My mate Nige is usually pretty good with his assesment of players so all i need to do now is find out if he really means that LP is a good player, or that they have had some real shit in that position. I suspect that LP is a good un."
muzzy1981 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Fazackery is the link, worked with him when he was Assitnant manager at Huddersfield. Seems to be highly rated at Huddersfield, player of the seaon, young and fits the Svennis criteria in terms of speed. Good to see we are now looking at realistic permanent signings, Naughton has been quality but would never be a realitic signing, to expensive, our £10m budget needs to be spent wisely. Even if we had Naughton untill the end of the season, he would end up heading back to spurs and we'd have to find a replacement (more team disruption). In Sven we trust!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 A rumour was going around on Saturday that Naughton staying is a done deal, although where this originated from I haven't got a clue. I would have thought that he was good enough for Spurs to want to keep him, myself
Jimmy Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 he started at Liverpool as a central midfielder and got converted at Yeovil. Smithies is a decent keeper too if we're seriously looking at a replacement for Weale
StanSP Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Never seen him play but sounds promising. How old is he? Hobbs' age? In Derek (and Sven!) we trust!
AaronH Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Would love to keep naughton however if we can't would rather have someone who knows this level
ithuriel Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 What was all that talk of prem quality players ?

Uncle Monty Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Wasn't Tom Kennedy player of the season as well? Look what happened to him......

I would have thought that he was good enough for Spurs to want to keep him, myself My contact info says Naughton is here for the season. He has proved a reliable source.
Unit Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Wasn't Tom Kennedy player of the season as well? Look what happened to him...... And Steven Clemence. Player of the season and players player of the season if I recall correctly!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Good on FM a few years back for the smaller clubs. Think he played for Yeovil in real life too, defensice midfielder I'm sure he was on the game.
muzzy1981 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Wasn't Tom Kennedy player of the season as well? Look what happened to him...... I think Kennedy will come back and play a part in the Leicester squad at some point. Appears that Sven is looking to get cover in every position and Bruno won't be cover at LB forever. Hopefully Naugton is staying for the rest of the season so we have two good players to cover RB.
Wymsey Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Seen him play a few times. He looked quite good everytime, got pace and determination. Don't know about that £1.2m tag though.
Jimmy Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Kennedy was League 2 Peltier has been an established key member of League 1 teams for years, including our season in that league

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Personally don't think Cunningham or Naughton are that unrealistic, hardly as if either will get regular football at clubs desperately chasing Champions League football. Think we'd get their preference if they're enjoying their time here and fancy moving on.
