Leeds and Max Gradel

Guessing I'll be in the minority here, but I'd like to see Leeds promoted, more so than Reading, Swansea, Watford etc.

Would be PROPER team back in the Prem, but whether I could want to see them promoted is another matter!

I just can't stand the attitude that I have experienced from Leeds fans. Most think they have a god given right to be in the prem just cause they used to be good.

I hope they get shitter again but can only see them going from strength to strength and I'd be surprised if they weren't to get back to the pl -temporarily at least- in the next few seasons.

Really hope Gradel doesn't score as well. I liked him but I rekon he's got a bit of an attitude and would probably gloat uncontrolably if he scored.

Why did we sell him? I can't remember. Which oaf was in the team ahead of him?

Oakley waddled up and down the wing because Pearson refused to drop him for someone decent, fast and skilful.

L1 will be a shocker on sunday with most of the deadheads around me thinking there witty and clever singing 'we all hate Leeds scum' and 'your not famous anymore', not realising the Leeds fans lap that shit up!

Gradel did well in our promotion season then got the boot from Pearson, probably because Gradel was a 'Bertie Big Bollocks' and got on Nigel's tits.

I cant think of any other reason.

He didn't get the boot he asked to leave and join Leeds who were showing more interest than we were.

OK let me re-phrase it.

He got the boot from the first team after a very good season the year before.

No one could work out why but I suspect he got on Pearson's tits.

He then got the hump and looked elsewhere for an opportunity, and now looks like just the sort of player we need on the wing.

Mind you, he isn't the first decent player we have flogged to Leeds recently without any explanation.

Make more sense now?

I understood what you meant, but when you state something on here it has a tendency to become the 'truth' - Just trying to avoid that happeningthumbsup.gif

Wigan and West Brom are interested in Leeds United midfielder Max Gradel.

The fiery 23-year-old has impressed with seven goals this season, including two against QPR, and has earned a call-up to the Ivory Coast squad.

He is contracted until 2012 but his pace and ability to play on either wing has attracted attention from Premier League scouts.

If Leeds sell him for a lot more than they paid for him then we can officially say that Pearson/Mandaric/whoever dropped a bollock letting him go.

I don't think it was a case of getting on Pearson's tits just that Gradel wanted to express himself on the pitch which didn't fit into the regimental style we were playing, It's easy to look back now and say it was a mistake but at the time it looked like Pearson would be here for some considerable time so it made sense to let him go.

Shame, but no point dwelling on it. (Thrac) :sweating:

I'd like to think we'd get a small sell-on fee. Don't think he'll go anyway, and don't see why he'd want too. Very much like King's position with us - playing regularly as an important player in a side that could do very well.

I've always hoped we maneuvered a sell on fee in the deal but I highly doubt it if Mandy knew he was on his way in the summer.

I do believe we sold him for peanuts, 250k or so?

Respect for not celebrating yesterday, thought he got a rough ride from the crowd, compared to the receptions Hume's had the last few seasons.

As someone who said it was a colossal mistake at the time it's hard to sit back and trust the so-called professionals who Finnegan revers as knowing so much!

Especially when Leeds are spending a fraction of what we're spending and sitting in a promotion spot courtesy of one of our best young players scoring a bagful of goals while we're pissing about with every name in the football fraternity, trying to assemble a side which will lift us from the realms of also-rans.

How ironic it will be if Leeds go up because Pearson couldn't or wouldn't harness Gradel's obvious abilities just years after we suffered relegation because of Holloway's stupidity in not using King. .
