All this talk about Bruno having no pace and being caught out of position is nonsense.

In comparison, Naughton has bucket loads of pace and was constantly caught out of position in yesterdays game.

There's a lot to be said for having an experienced pro in the team no matter how old or how quick/slow he is. Bruno makes up for his lack of pace with a sound footballing brain. He's a clever player.

Sven has said that he wants Bruno to stay and since Berner said it's up to Sven that says to me he will now stay. However, Sven obviously thought that Greg has been a better option so far this season from what he has seen previously an in training so he may well bring in another LB. Whether this be as cover or ahead of him I don't know.

I agree he isn't irreplaceable and if we are promoted, this season or next, I'm not sure a 34/35 year olf Bruno could cut it in the Premier League...but for now I'm happy with his experience and strength in defence, very happy.

I'd like him to stay but it all depends really. I'm glad Sven isn't in the habit of handing out assurances that people will start every week. It would be a dangerous precedent. If Bruno is happy to stay and fight for his place and sometimes play sometimes not thereby giving us depth and an alternative option then I certainly think he is good enough for that and I would be pleased. If he wants a guarenteed place in the starting line-up he can bugger off. I doubt Sven would even offer than kind of assurance to Andy King! I like that about him as it allows aboslutely no room for egos to develop and complacency to set in.

imagine we get promoted this season or next season. bruno wont be able to do the job in the prem at 34-35. cant fault sven for wanting to integrate a new LB sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Id rather have someone at LB who,s better defensively than going forward. Nothing against Cunningham by the way before people start slating me. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I'd rather the experienced head at LB. You can always trust bruno to put his shift in for the team, and as for the lack of pace, I believe he more than makes up for it in his positioning

Keep him until the end of the season. He can do a role for the side for that period of time then look to bring in a permanent replacement in the summer.

I thought he was past his best but yesterday I saw the Bruno of last season.

I thought he'd lost it after his early season form, but yesterday he had Coterill in his pocket according to Alan Young and Stringer. I hope he'll stay here, but I'd assume he'll definitely be off in the summer anyway, so it wouldn't be a massive loss, providing Sven's got a replacement.
