Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Fook this i'm taking the day off work. Got a litre bottle of vodka at home and some viagras. Might as well turn this blue.

Bryn Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 The more I think about this, the less happy I am with it. Do we need to spend this amount of money on a keeper? Are there not options out there that would present a considerable improvement on what we've got, at a fraction of the price? I think Sven needs to target some realistic names as well as the marquee signings - I really don't think we've got the depth to take the amount of points we need.
soley118 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 cant we just do a straight swap loan deal and send them logan for cover ... well its an idea haha

Petchy Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 I can't see why this won't go through, if true.. I know Man City keep saying they want to avoid the situation they got in last year, but I honestly can't see that happening. Most teams rely on 2 keepers, Man City want 3 just in case some how Hart AND Taylor get injured at the same time. Highly unlikely. Or, is it because they don't have faith in Taylor? If so, why keep him on the wage bill?

We don't even know how much it will cost or what percentage of his wages we will be expected to pay. Let's not worry about the money side of things anyway it's not like it comes out of our pockets (well I suppose ultimately it does in the long run but you know what I mean). If Shay is the best we can get then let's do everything we can to get him and hang the cost (within reason). If he stops a pen in the play-off final and we get promoted then all our money worries effectively evaporate anyway.

Agreed, people have heard rumours but no-one is sure on the money front so I don't know how they can say we're spending too much, Either way, this Given thing has surely got to start asap otherwise if we keep fecking about with him and leave it too late we could end up missing out on Ricardo, unless there's some other ruling for free agents I've missed?
Callabinho Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Got a text from my mate, "Sven in for smithies"?
Toby or not Toby Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Got a text from my mate, "Sven in for smithies"? Isn't he injured? I think Bennetts played the last couple for Huddersfield?
Nick Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Arsenal now in the frame too and Shay willing to insert instant re-call condition into his loan contract: http://www.footylatest.com/arsenal-to-make-last-minute-dash-to-sign-shay-given/19632

Babylon Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 He won't go to another prem team unless man city buy another keeper, I can't see Man city wanting to help any of those teams out so i'd imagine they would prefer a loan with an instant recall if anything.
Nick Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 It would not be in Man City's interests to improve the Arsenal squad now would it? One would have thought not.
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Why dont we just put this instant recall option in??
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Why dont we just put this instant recall option in?? Or why don't we tell him to fook off and play for Westlife and we'll just pay normal wages to a goalkeeper like Ricardo?
teblin Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Or why don't we tell him to fook off and play for Westlife and we'll just pay normal wages to a goalkeeper like Ricardo? I'd have thought this would be what happens. Personally think getting a centre back is more important.
dannythefox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Why dont we just put this instant recall option in?? Spot on. Thats what will happen if he comes we have weale to stick straight in so whats the problem.
Babylon Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Got a text from my mate, "Sven in for smithies"? Someone has put that on twitter a while back... same person who put on the Michael Jacobs thing. Either you are Craig or your mate is!!!
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Or why don't we tell him to fook off and play for Westlife and we'll just pay normal wages to a goalkeeper like Ricardo? Got my reservations about Ricardo, decent keeper no doubt. But the Championship is pretty physical, will he fancy it at 34?
Babylon Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Why dont we just put this instant recall option in?? Who says we haven't?
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Someone has put that on twitter a while back... same person who put on the Michael Jacobs thing. Either you are Craig or your mate is!!! Whats there twitter name?
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Who says we haven't? Think the stumbling block is the fact we dont want that come into effect till after 28 days
