1991FOX Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 and look at how many good players arent getting a game for them.. he over-buys players who become regulars for the first year, from then on its just a slide down the pecking order. Strength in depth. There now a top 5 premiership team and in the last 16 of the champions league. It works for him so you can't knock it, if the players aren't happy they'd leave.
Brainy Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 But its clear these days that for some players its fine to be unhappy with the lack of opportunities but happy to be picking up their $$$$$$$ In terms of quality depth i'd say that Man City and Tottenham have the best in the league. Pretty much their players have the experience in playing in the top leagues while alot of Man Utd's depth are younger players theyve been blooding in for a few years now.

Stevosevic Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Henry winter has said on twitter he isn't going anywhere.
Simmo86 Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 To all those asking about Given earlier...he's not going anywhere. #mcfc don't want situation like last season when No 1 injured & no cover 40 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Henry Winter's tweet.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 According to Henry Winter sports writer.... To all those asking about Given earlier...he's not going anywhere. #mcfc don't want situation like last season when No 1 injured & no cover Fail. Just read above post. Feel free to delete mods.
Ric Flair Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Good. Rather have Ricardo for the money anyway. Plus it's one less loan that can be used on Faye and/or Michael Johnson.
Joeb.lcfc Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Good. Rather have Ricardo for the money anyway. Plus it's one less loan that can be used on Faye and/or Michael Johnson. Think will Faye be permanent if it comes off
Haydos Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Don't know how relevant Winter's tweet is. He might have inside knowledge, in which case fair enough but the 24 hour recall has been banded about which would make his point pretty moot.

Yeah I was gonna say, if there's a recall clause on the deal then it wouldn't matter if Hart got injured, in fact if anything it'd be beneficial for Man City because Given would come back having played games.
Bugg Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 i don't trust people that can't spell loan properly. He's just typing it in a scottish accent Al.
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 The risk for Man City is the fact the recall option doesn't come into effect until after 28 days I think.
escos Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 The risk for Man City is the fact the recall option doesn't come into effect until after 28 days I think. Not for keepers it doesn't
Jimbo Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Not for keepers it doesn't All of the reports I've read have said that it does apply. This is why Man City, whether it be Mancini or the board, will not sanction the move.
dan77 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 It's in the papers today!! Sven in bid to sign Shay Given. Didn't hear which paper I was only half listening, I'm sure someone will post it on soon!
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Gossip Got us down for Given and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. Won't happen though!
Adster Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 According to the LM the deal for Shay is off. Edit: Just seen SSN, reporting that Leicester will sign Shay Given today.
shailen Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Apparently spurs have bid 4mil, but i think he'll come to us because of guarantee of first team football
Callabinho Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Just had a chat with some one and the situation is...Mancini is being a bell about all of this, Shay is happy to join us on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permo if we achieve promotion, The Faye transfer seems to have halted temporarily because Celtic have shown interest. App Sven has tabled his final offer for Shay not sure on the details but Shay is happy with the move, its up to Mancini now who is bitter about yesterday's draw but in Sven we trust! Plus Diniyar Bilyaletdinov Looks a good one Loan for now and a possibility to land a permo in the future. But just to confirm the Given deal is not yet dead!! have hope.
Babylon Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 There are more people on here with "contacts" than without at the minute.
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Sven should stop fannying about with Given and sign Ricardo. The wedge we'll have to pay for Given is sickening and it will save us a loan space for someone more important to our side. Ricardo will be more than good enough.
Callabinho Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 There are more people on here with "contacts" than without at the minute. The bloke i know is an executive at Walkers Crisps, he has been in this morning just to see if he can get any news! App Sven has cash available if he needs to spend, Were ready to play bidding wars!

Might not have to pay wages or it will be a small percentage if we do, It depends on the recall clause, all Mancini has to do is say ok!
