hackneyfox Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Off the roof: http://www.lcfc.com/page/LeagueTable/0,,10274~20100209,00.html After 28 games last season we had 43 points, 4 more than this season, although with a goal difference of +3 as opposed to -5. Blackpool after playing 30 GAMES only had 40 points.. and look what they went and did! (they've mentioned it on here a couple of times.. check back!) Oh, and Forest had 55 points by now! Whooops.
Darkon84 Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 need to start putting a few away wins back to back and keep our home record, then we'll be flying!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Yes defo, away wins coupled with a strong home record would get us at least in the play offs but sadly i cant see it happening, we will draw too many away (like at Preston)
Bausor Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 And we had only won 4 away at that stage so not a big diference it defo is still poss
Guest BlueBrett Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Wasn't it about this time last season when our top scorer broke his jaw and we had to turn to Waghorn for the run in? Now we have a situation where Waghorn is our 4th/5th choice striker and we have some real firepower up front ahead of him. Yakubu can make up that 4 point deficit all by himself! I'm trying to think of the season like a 1500 meter race. We took it easy at the start, strong middle section over the winter and now with a lap to go we are nicely poised on the shoulder of the leaders just like the world class athletes in the field always do and we can be confident of bringing it home because we know we have the extra ability in our legs (feet).
sdb Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 We were 6th and with 2 games in hand over the rest of the league though!!
Corky Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 It was around this time that we went on a good run (about eight unbeaten) which put us in a great position. Let's do it again.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Forest Deby QPR and Cardiff away.... tricky to say the least
blueredswed Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Forest Deby QPR and Cardiff away.... tricky to say the least 8 points I hope! Perhaps 12 who knows? If so here we go the BLUE.......

Absolutely. All we need to do is open our legs and show our class
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Absolutely. All we need to do is open our legs and show our class I asked my ex-boss to do that and she kicked me in the bollucks
deep blue Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Absolutely. All we need to do is open our legs and show our class Nice one. Whenever that comment comes to mind it always brings a smile to my face, even after all this time.
The Doctor Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 I asked my ex-boss to do that and she kicked me in the bollucks Andy?
Ric Flair Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 I cannot believe we are only 4 points off this stage last season and yet this season the league is much tighter. RIGHT LET'S FOOKIN GO FOR THIS!! Eidur Gudjonsen Giovani Dos Santos Michael Johnson
shailen Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Yeah were by no means out of it. The reason is mainly that we seem to be either winning or losing matches and not dropping compared to last season
Brown Fox Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 I remember after an awful January last season we had a quality February going unbeaten so if we can recreate that then we could be well on our way
Jakemoore Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 It was around this time that we went on a good run (about eight unbeaten) which put us in a great position. Let's do it again. We're half way there already, four unbeaten I mean.
shailen Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 We're half way there already, four unbeaten I mean. Lets go eight unbeaten starting at sheff utd
Jimbo Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Lets go eight unbeaten starting at sheff utd sod it! Let's go 18 unbeaten!
darko2k7 Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 I did think this was a near impossible task but now seeing that blackpool were worse off than us brings a warmth to my heart
Haydos Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 I did think this was a near impossible task but now seeing that blackpool were worse off than us brings a warmth to my heart Different season, different league. It's going to be a hell of a lot trickier for us. Still reckon we can scrape it though
shailen Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 We shouldnt fear anyone. Our squad of players have better quality then any other team in the league and also we have a good balanced side. I still believe we will get play offs this season, we cant afford to lose many, but its defo realistic. My predictions is we'll finish 5th with 74 points
topharry123 Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 We're in a position where it could go either way. We need a good month to put us right in the mix. If we have an average month there might be too much to make up by the end of the season. But looking at our fixtures we could easily go out and get 14-16 points. The only games that i'm not sure we'll win are Cardiff and Derby away, but you never know! 18 points from the month and we're right in the mix
