FosseFox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 According to Stringer: Portuguese GK Ricardo has signed for #lcfc until the end of the season subject to International clearance. Won't play vs Shef Utd
Hammster Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 During Euro 2004, how many of you were watching that penalty shootout and thought 'In 7 years, we'll have that keeper. And Vassel and Sven aswell'. Awesome signing.
FosseFox Posted 31 January 2011 Author Posted 31 January 2011 I'm reserving judgement until he plays. Could be a very good signing. However, it does appear he's spent time keeping fit on Portugal's version of Strictly Come Dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpBg5Z4lvcw
VinceNoir Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Good signing this. Wonder if he'll keep his short sleeved jersey on for the tropical british weather
Austin Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Hope he's still up for it .. could be a cracking signing!
rich2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 his experience will be good for the team and give the back 4 confidence, however hes not the best in the air,..
lcfcadam Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Think Weale would be within his rights to feel a little pissed off to be ousted from a starting spot given how he's not really done much wrong at all this season, especially since Sven took over...
Yorkshire Blue Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Hope he can perform for us! Good signing this. Wonder if he'll keep his short sleeved jersey on for the tropical british weather As stupid as it sounds, keepers aren't even allowed to wear short sleeved shirts if the refs want to be strict with the rules
Guest shearfox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 The only disappointment here is we didn't get Given. Still a very good signing.
FosseFox Posted 31 January 2011 Author Posted 31 January 2011 I love it how we are now disappointed that we didn't sign Shay Given, one of the best Keepers in the land. Times they are a changing at LCFC.
Captain... Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Reserving judgement until I see him play, but it is worrying that he hasn't played since the 08/09 season. Depends if he comes on as back up or as first choice, I can't imagine he would sign for bench warming, but if he was without a club then maybe he has come to give some competition to Weale. I think, as long as he doesn't **** up tomorrow Weale should start on Saturday, knowing that his place is under threat but at the moment he is number one may inspire him to play better than before. Remeber he has been out of favour at Betis who are a second division club in Spain, it is possible he has been brought in as back up.
Finnegan Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Share everyone else's concerns about how long it's been since he was a regular - but he's a tidy player who comes with a pedigree well above the Championship. Very good pick up for a free signing. Don't know what else people were expecting, really.
Uncle Phil Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Can't moan for a free signing. As long as he plays on merit and doesn't just walk into the first team I'm happy.
Fox92 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 If we ever got to a penalty shoot out, Sven could do a Martin and bring Ricardo on for Weale Good signing this. Wonder if he'll keep his short sleeved jersey on for the tropical british weather Haha, I was thinking that. I know Joe Hart wears short sleeves but he's already English...
DB11 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 As stupid as it sounds, keepers aren't even allowed to wear short sleeved shirts if the refs want to be strict with the rules Yes they are.
smudger63 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Thing is, he`s not a free agent for no reason, is he. Thats a concern, as is, why no one else seems to have been interested in taking him on. Always seemed a decent shot stopper, as i remember, but pretty iffy on crosses!
Legend_in_blue Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Wage demands? He may not cost on a transfer fee but 20-30K a week racks up the pounds sharpish.
Stevosevic Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Anyone thinking he will be crap, remind yourself of vassell.
