cairnsy Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Hmmm.. I remember someone else doing that exact same thing, can't remember who though
Dilkes Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Could be on loan somewhere. Not silly enough to try it in a big game though
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 I remember finishing five a side at Goals then deciding to stay and watch that game on the big screen there. Kermorgant came on, and like the complete dildo I am, turned to the people I was with and confidently said - "Don't worry, trust me, Yann will bag." Later on he thinks he's better than he is and blows our shot at Wembley. On the camera angle I genuinely thought it was going in when it left his boot as well. Then I realised I was so, so wrong. *And on Roman Bednar's first game I put a fiver on him to be first scorer and he was bloody gash throughout his spell. I reckon I curse strikers.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Why does anybody ever try that?! In fact why doesn't everybody always go high with their pens? Completely takes the keeper out of the equation.

Its harder to control the ball if you go high and can easily blast the ball over. Instead the best technique is to side foot it into corner with power!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Was it Ray Stewart for West Ham a few years ago who just walloped it every pen he got?
rico Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Was it Ray Stewart for West Ham a few years ago who just walloped it every pen he got? Julian Dicks used to do the same
Criggers Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 And Matt Elliott? Walshy? Pretty much and centre back really.

Instead the best technique is to side foot it into corner with power! Problem with trying to put it nicely into the corner is you can under-hit the ball (Ashley Young yesterday) or put the ball wide of the post. For me, it's got to be foot straight-through the ball everytime looking for the roof of the goal. At least that way it seems as though you've given it a proper fvcking go. I'd rather someone twat the ball and put it over than try to be cocky and miss by dinking it or rolling it towards the corner and not getting enough direction on it.

None of this fancy shit. Take a penalty properly and break the fucking net in the process!
The Doctor Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 you should just smash penalties as hard and as low as you can.
samjohnson Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 I think you can do it on FIFA 2005. I know this because I played it not 3 days ago
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Aye, Gally's got the idea, head down and hit it as hard as you fcking can.
Leicester Rule! Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 That could come back to haunt them come the end of the season ...
Marcus james Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 In the world cup last year i recall some uruguay player doing it. It worked a treat. But when Kermo did it he ruined my life
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Call me stupid (probably is but still), but I dont rate left footed penalty takers. Dont know why, just always has bugged me. I'm not saying Hoolahan missed because he is left footed, he just made a prat of himself, but generally there is something that gets at me over left footed penalties. Anyone else slightly agree? I understand if people think I'm talking shit, but nevermind!
StanSP Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 It's just bizarre to think that as opposed to stupid and not really sure what you're basing it on!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 It's just bizarre to think that as opposed to stupid and not really sure what you're basing it on! I'm not really sure what to base it on, its just my opinion. As crazy as it sounds.
ajthefox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 As a few others have said just put your foot through it. If anyone could find me an instance where a keeper has stood still i'd be surprised.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 I'm not really sure what to base it on, its just my opinion. As crazy as it sounds. i think one legged players would struggle aswell
Corky Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Never been a fan of this technique, smacks of over-confidence to me.
Guest parky0607 Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I love the way gally takes his. Don't even face the keeper, and laces through the ball.
