Most of the clubs listed are shit as is the nightlife in Leicester now days, Republic generally people just looking for a fight or standing there thinking there Al Pacino, Liquid used to be decent about 2 years ago still had a few decent nights in there... Fan club absolute dogbowl stinks of piss and shit. Superfly is decent.

If I had the money I would open up a nightclub in Leicester that would be the place to go unfortunately I don't have the money available.

Easier said than done when half the scum from this place start turning up your door pissed up.

My mate might actually be buying Liquid/Envy, I've no idea what he is thinking.

True it's probably not the best place to open up a nightclub, I think with some planning you could make it the place to go and make good money... I would only open on Thus/Fri/Sat and I would also make sure each night (Fri/Sat) there would be special named DJ's not joe blogs from round the corner... would give it a unique name and make the place look tidy. I'd easily take out the majority of the other clubs listed.

Liquid/Envy would be worth buying if you knew what you was doing and had the money, saying that its not exactly very big.

Do them two Indian doorman still work at Liquid/Envy?

Me and a friend used to have scuffle's with them nearly every other week a couple of years ago.

Also does anyone go to Tubes in Melton Mowbary?

I was once thrown out of the Jolly Anglers in Wood Green by a cvnt of a bouncer for trying to join a fight that wasn't actually happening. I was very drunk.

For the record, Rack and Roll during the day is a great little pool hall.

To be fair you're not wrong, sometimes it's like a day out at the old folks home. On the other hand, that really doesn't bother me if they've got some quality older music. I can't be doing with most of the modern stuff, that's why Fan Club and Mosh appeal to me, they've got a bit of cheesey stuff, songs that I genuinely like listening to sober as well.

I've never seen Mosh as 'grim' or a 'shitheap' tbh. It's not particularly rough or dirty. I do go mostly on a Tuesday though when it's full of students.

By "grim", I meant some of the people you get in there. In fairness, the club itself is relatively well kept. Obviously it's a select few, but it's a safehaven for fat goths etc. I agree about Tuesdays though, they are good. I'll give FanClub a go sometime soon, as going to the same club really does grate on you. Although I'll be going to BCM next month

No idea I've not been for years, every other week? lol Surprised you weren't dragged up for racism :P

Bouncers are generally pricks. Anyone who's ever worked around drunk people when stone cold sober will probably understand why, though. Not much fun.

Oh God, getting flashbacks of the graveyard shift I used to do at a 24-hour petrol station on Friday night all those years ago.

The drivers weren't drunk (mostly), but the passengers invariably were. Ugh.

I find the doorman at places like life (sosho), liquid/envy, Republic, to be massive pricks. Never had any trouble with doormen elsewhere.

Funnily enough though my dad used to be a doorman in town years ago at fish & quart, Brannigans and flaming colossus.

Anyone tried XY yet? I havent but I designed a lot of the interiors its meant to be getting quite popular but that might just be the owner talking it up a bit.

Go there most weeks as my friends own it. It's worth going, they play 3 floors of different music, not been into the VIP section yet but they scan your fingers when entering and it's a minimum spend of £250.

Finger scanning? Wow lol

I wouldn't let a nightclub scan my finger on principle.

You'd have thought the VIP's and the clients that spend £250 would be the least of their worries in causing a disturbance.

Don't go in XY anyway let alone the VIP section so i guess I'm not too bothered

Looks nice but **** getting a finger scan for going into a VIP section mate

Totally agree with you. God knows who he's expecting to go in and spend a minimum of £250 apart from city & tigers players. Even then they won't want to be sat in an empty room with nobody to impress.

Can't stand Mosh, cringeworthy.

Republic is usually rammed with sted heads.

Sosho is filled with Joey Essex wannabes.

If you've been on Jeremy Kyle and like the smell of shit then head to Liquid.

I tend to just stick to the bars, Marz and Yates.

Mosh was always my regular haunt but seems to have dumbed down over the last couple of years, used to get a real good variety across all three floors. Women are a mixed bag and well outnumbered too there.

Quite enjoy Terrace (if you fancy being a bit pretentious) or Fan Club (if you want to do the exact opposite)

Does Parafox still spin the discs there ?

Is it still £6 quid on Wednesday's "all you can drink is free  night" ?

There's an Asian bloke there yeah, wouldn't let me back in a few weeks back because I didn't tell him I was leaving and they didn't have stamps so I ended up trying to swindle my way in with a bunch of French foreign exchange students who happened to ask me where Liquid was on my way home. Put on the accent and everything, was well funny. Still wouldn't let me in mind, must have thought I was absolutely trollied lol

Just to annoy the youngsters,

Spent many a night in Grannies but I can't remember paying six quid to get in that was about my weekly wage!

Not seen the IL Rondo mentioned that place was uniquely brilliant.
