StanSP Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Fairly early, but thought I'd open it up for ideas on who we'd like to play and if anyone else maybe connected with the club knows of any that are planned. I'm guessing there'll be the regulars against Loughborough Dynamo and Hinckley? I remember a few weeks back that talk of a tour of Sweden might be/is planned. And then there's the talk of the Thailand visit to play Arsenal. Plus also wondering if there'll be a big-name friendly back here at The Walkers?
Bugg Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 I want a friendly in Germany just so I can sample the stadia there
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 I want a friendly in Germany just so I can sample the stadia there Partick thistle away
rico Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Real Madrid or Barcelona at the Walkers for the prestige friendly would do very nicely
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 With Svens contacts you would be expecting a better pre-season schedule than past years and also a glamour tie at the Walkers against someone who would bring in bigger gate receipts than Bilbao for example... If Sven can get the fitness spot on from day 1 of next season we'll really push on.....
Stevosevic Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Tour of Sweden, Arsenal in Thailand and Man City at the Walkers.

StanSP Posted 6 April 2011 Author Posted 6 April 2011 Sweden seems nailed on. Nice. Any ideas which teams?
Dan Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Total prediction - but Man City at home I can see happening. Wouldn't be surprised by Lazio or Benfica, either.
MC Prussian Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Nice. Any ideas which teams? For a start, Vastra Frolunda, Degerfors and/or IFK would do nicely.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Somewhere in or close to Lincolnshire would do nicely. Sincil Bank or Blundell Park high on the list. Failing that, non-league terrace away. I wouldn't necessarily say no to a glamour friendly though.

LCFCmatt Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Could swear I remember Sven talking about a mini tournament involving a Swedish team and Zenit St. Petersburg, as well as another. St Petersberg, Rosenberg, and someone else. Can't remember.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 I think the teams were Rosenborg, Zenit St. Petersburg and IFK Gothenburg.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Tour of Sweden could be good if the games aren't played behind closed doors. Failing being able to attend that, I'd want a few non-league aways with Celtic or any Scottish team away.
