acooling08 Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale - 5 - He had a decent game except for their goal. What happened??? PVA - 6 - Decent. Mee - 6 - Solid. Bamba - 7 - Unbeatable. Vitor - 5 - His first iffy game. Oakley - 7 - Great goal, got stuck in. Gally - 6 - Few decent crosses, why was he subbed? King - 5 - Yet again he was invisible. Drop him Sven. Wellens - 5 - Poor passing. Caught on the ball a lot. Kamara - 5 - Such a disappointment following Saturday. He was marked so heavily though tbf. Yak - 5 - Back to his lazy old self. Missed from 2 yards. Sven - 6 - Picked the same team, they just didn't perform. However, subs were too late and can't motivate players. Ref - Not bad. Gave Palace the benefit of the doubt quite a bit though. Palace - 7 - Spoilt the game. Unsporting, vicious, time wasting bastards. But that was their plan.
The Doctor Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 no wellens then? Weale - 5 - Shit, shit and more shit - even Kalac could have saved that goal. Vitor - 6 Bamba - 6.5 - starting to return to the bamba we saw when he first arrived Mee - 6.5 Van Aanholt - 7 - Got forward but minimal reward for his efforts King - 6 - the quietest of the midfield 3 Oakley - 8.5 - MOTM - played very well and to top it off a first goal in 2 years and 1 day Wellens - 6 - Fairly poor, tried to play over-ambitious balls too frequently Gallagher - 6 Yakubu - 6 - more effort than before but still lacking something Kamara - 6 - jekyll and hyde springs to mind subs: Vassell - 8 - pretty much every thing good in the second half came through him Howard - 6 - put himself about but found yet another **** of a ref determined to give as little as he could to howard Dyer - 6 Ref - 4 - Shocking, how that wasn't a penalty to yakubu i'll never know.
ScouseFox Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Everyone was gash bar Oakley who was less gash. Weale was super gash for their goal. Grrr.
cairnsy Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale: 1- RICARDO RICARDO RICARDO Vitor: 4 - got beaten so many times by their wingers. Bamba - 7 solid Mee - 8 looked very solid and unbeatable PVA - 6 good movement going forward and stopped wingers threat Oakley - 8 MOTM for me, won us a point and made so many tackles Wellens - 4 off his game ATM King - 1 ****ing dyer, such a woman going into ariel challenges doesn't even look like he ever will win a head and backs out. Hasn't scored it over 10 games now even though his purpose as an attacking midfielder is to score Kamara - 6 movement was gd tried to create things but got raped by 3/4 palace players the second he touched the ball Yak - 5 work rate was better ie challenging more but movement was crap and missed from 2 yards out Gally - 5 crosses were poor but everything was channeled to him and sometimes made things out of nothing Vas - 6 into the centre midfield where it was clogged up enough without more bodies but skinned quite a few people and put gd balls inthe box Dyer+Howard - n/a
lcfcsnow Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale - 5 - He had a decent game except for their goal. What happened??? The opposition had a shot from long range? Usually results in a goal. Calamity.
Wymsey Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 When Naughton comes back he should be on the right with Vitor in the left CB. He seemed to be in Naughton's right position today which isn't good as he has got not much pace.
ithuriel Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale..........5 bad goal conceded .. PVA...........6 Mee...........7 Bamba.......7 Vitor..........5 ... Gallagher..5 King..........5 Wellens....6 Oakley......7 ... Yakubu....5 Kamara....6 . . Vassel.....6 Dyer........5 Howard...5
gh09lcfc Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale 5 - Nothing much to do at all, but that goal didn't know if the swerve put him off or he saw it late??? Vitor 6 - Not that good tonight wasn't pushing forward that much, bit negative for me but good second half Bamba 8 - Solid as a rock didn't do anything wrong, from the get go he was flying in with key tackles Mee 7 - Solid like Bamba not as good as his fellow centre half but put his foot in when it mattered Van Aanholt 7 - Not as good as Saturday but he wasn't half bad tonight, improving slowly Oakley 7 - Poor first half absolute gem in the 2nd but I still prefer Yuki Wellens 5 - Shocking decision making tonight, passing wasn't that good either King 5 - Mr lost soul again, god knows where the real King has gone Gallagher 6 - Liked to get the ball into the box shame nothing came of it, but then subbed Kamara 6 - Signs of his class that he showed on Saturday, but looked frustrated at times Yakubu 5 - Pathetic, did nothing again tonight odd good piece of play but more crap than good Dyer 6 - Good to see him back, when on the ball he troubled Clyne something which Kamara tbh kind of struggled at Vassell 8 - Gave a real boost to the game very good pace and linking up, just needed a goal really Howard 6 - Won some headers but other than that just ran around like a looney.
cairnsy Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 When Naughton comes back he should be on the right with Vitor in the left CB. He seemed to be in Naughton's right position today which isn't good as he has got not much pace. Id bench Vitor, the Bamba Mee combo looks very good to me
Stuliasz Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale 4 - can't forgive that mistake Vitor 6 - Did his job, nothing more, nothing less Bamba 6.5 - Did ok Mee 7 - Did ok, impressed with his runs forward with the ball to try and make something happen in front of him Van Aanholt 6 - Reasonable but unremarkable Oakley 8 - Best performance of the season that I've seen from him. Broke up numerous attacks, moved the ball on well and scored an with an excellent strike. Wellens 5 - Poor, too casual and seemed to play like a few of the others as if we were 4-0 up against Burnley King 4 - Very poor. The little that he did, he did poorly. No fight in him tonight to win tackles or headers and his feeble attempts at attacking exposed his lack of pace. Kamara 6 - His touch wasn't as sticky as on Saturday against Burnley but did ok. Think his performance on Saturday was helped by a lot of movement in front of him which just wasn't there tonight. Yakubu 3 - I've tried to stick with him, defending him against others up to this point but lost my patience tonight. There was zero commitment to the cause in terms of effort, desire or quality. A passenger. Gallagher 5 - When a player is almost solely reliant on his delivery, it needs to be up to a good standard, tonight it wasn't. Subs: Vassell 7 - Livened up the attacks with a bit of pace and trickery in the second half. Wish he would take people on more though. Howard 6 - I'm guessing he had previous with the ref because he got sod all. Was still a useful battering ram to try and break through their defensive wall in the last 10 though. Dyer 5.5 - A bit rusty, he doesn't seem to perform unless he's had a run of games. Overall - it was always going to be a tough task to break through a team that have become renowned for their defensive capabilities. The way to play Leicester at the Walkers is to shut up shop and counter. They did both in the first half, pretty much just defend in the second and we didn't perform well enough to break through. Suppose it's a point gained considering other results but feels like yet another big chance wasted.
Bert Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale 4 - can't imagine the reaction if Ricardo was in goal and that went in. Vitor 5 - a shadow of his usual self. PVA 6 - can't cross for shit, but did ok. Bamba 7 - did well, nothing got by him. Mee 6 - although he did well, I still don't rate him. King 4 - the best thing he did all night, a great run went un-noticed. Wellens 5 - too slow on the ball tonight. Oakley 8 - easily our best player, great goal. Gallagher 5 - no coincidence that when wellens is bad, gally Is too. Yakubu 6 - worked hard and should've had a goal, tightly marked. Kamara 6 - see Yakubu. Vassell 7 - looked decent and quite dangerous. Dyer - did nothing. Howard - did nothing apart from give at least four fouls away.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 How anyone can rate Wellens above Yakubu tonight is totally and utterly beyond me. Guy gets far too much stick.
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Yakubu 6 - worked hard and should've had a goal, tightly marked. easily pleased
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 i dont quite buy this "sven cant motivate the players" we are(/were) points away from the premier league, the players no what is at stake. i think he does well to place confidence in the lads. what more does he need to do to motivate them? shout in their faces? vassell was one of the standout players for me today. i think gally was back to the old moments of brilliance and moments of fluff. oakley played well, but along with the other midfield three lacked bite and were guilty of indecisiveness on a lot of occasions. i think palace did a job on us defensively, they werent amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but theyground us down, cut out our opitions and blocked our shots well. Weale - 5 - what happened? PVA - 7 (just about, valuable going forward) Mee - 6.5 bamba - 6 vitor - 6 good defensively, but we missed naughtons presence in attack) Wellens - 6 some nice passes sporadically, but looked like he needed a kick up the arse. King - 6 on and off oakley - 7.5 passed it round quite well, was calm and took goal nicely. Gallagher - 6 whenever he gets the ball you know he is going to float a cross in eventually and palace allways anticipated this. also ****ed up a fair few crosses. Yak - 6 didnt do a lot wrong, but didnt find enough chances. Kamara - 6 first time i've seen him and was impressed with the way he helped out around the pitch, but wasnt effective enough in the final third. subs vass - 7.5 skinning players for fun. some anticlimactic end products though Lloyd - 6 Howard - 6 all in all. dissapointingly mediocre when we should have been ruthless.
leicesterseddon Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale - 4 Not much to do. Beaten from distance, again - and it cost us. Van Aanholt - 5 There was no threat on that side from Palace so he had no defending to do. Didn't get forward that well. Writhing around on the floor in the 93rd minute was a joke. Bamba - 6 Again, Palace weren't much of a threat but he did very little wrong. Mee - 6 Pretty much ditto. Vitor - 5.5 Did nothing wrong. Didn't get forward though. Gallagher - 6 Thought he was unlucky to be taken off. Not a great display, but not the worst. Wellens - 6.5 Had an off day today, but still the only player in midfield who looked like he wanted to create anything. Oakley - 6 For his goal and general effort. Had his best game in a long time today. But he can't change a game. King - 0 I literally have nothing to say about his performance. Nothing. I can't even remember him touching the ball once or even looking bothered. Kamara - 5 Off it tonight, no service though. Yakubu - 3 Wasn't bothered at all. Can **** off now as far as I'm concerned.
Foxybeaver Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Oakley and Mee played well everyone else was pretty shot tbh
Rusko187 Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Van Aanholt - 5 There was no threat on that side from Palace so he had no defending to do. Didn't get forward that well. Writhing around on the floor in the 93rd minute was a joke. He did get knee'd in the head, surely you would understand that might hurt a little?!
funkyrobot Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 I never thought I'd say it but here goes. Oakley man of the match. I take it all back. Alright not all. A bit back. Kingy was a bit useless again tho eh? Wellens was poo too. Wealester big mistake. I blame Ricardo
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 weale 3 - rasping shot had no chance Vitor 4- not his best game Bamba 7 - nothing wrong Mee 7 - nothing wrong PVA -4 not much defending to do, should of contributed more going forward. Gallagher 6- the odd crap cross Wellens 4- not in it oakley 7- played well last two games KIng 3- crap Kamara 5- involved but not up to scratch Yakubu- 3- ran his tits off and held the ball up well. cant fault him for effort.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 He did get knee'd in the head, surely you would understand that might hurt a little?! Did he actually? I couldn't make out if there was actually contact or not. Mate sitting near there reckons he could have seen red for the tackle before too - looked like a corker to me though.
Jimmy Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale 5 - I hope the Ricardo haters are happy tonight, if he or Logan had conceded that they'd get annihilated on here Vitor 5 - missed Naughton badly Bamba 6 Mee 6 Van Aanholt 7 - made the runs but never played in Oakley 8 - what's happened over the last 2 games? so much better then before Wellens 5 -ffs stop looking for the Hollywood ball when you have a simple ball to PVA or someone else King 5 - did little and what he did do was often poor Gally 6 - was he injured? Kamara 6 - dwelled too much on the ball Yakubu 6 - held the ball up well but the runs that came on Saturday didn't come tonight Vassell 5 - attack the bloddy full back once or twice Dyer 4 - did he do anything of note? Howard 6 - won some headers could of had a penalty Sven please realise Dyer never does anything for us on the left, play him on the right where he cuts in and shoots on his strong foot
gh09lcfc Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 PVA -4 not much defending to do, should of contributed more going forward. Would of helped if Wellens passed him the ball instead of playing it into danger.
ozleicester Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Cant be arsed with a full rating.... Weale = - 2 (thats for the points he cost us tonight)
Kenners Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale - 4 Poor poor goal to let in. Doesnt look confident in his own distribution either. Vitor - 6 Decent defensively and has decent control. You wont see him getting past players, crossing wasn't brilliant and missed out on a few possible runs but to be fair he has a hard role to fill after Naughtons consistently good performances. Bamba - 7 He always seems as if he's going to do something hugely calamitous but he never does which is probably a reason he plays well. Not alot got passed him tonight, maybe a bit lucky his last minute challenge was deemed offside as it seemed he didn't get the ball from where I was. Him and Mee were some of the only ones to show urgency towards the end, alhough it got im a booking and slowed the momentum if anything. Mee - 7.5 Similar to Bamba. Plays on the edge and I feel as if hes going to foul the player but he always comes out with the ball. Whenever anyone did get by he did a good job of pushing them away from goal. Covers Bamba and PVA well aswell. Pva - 5.5 Not a poor performance as such but I wasn't impressed. Didnt seem to commit to 50-50 balls and his crossing was poor. Oakley - 8 Motm. Was everywhere today, his tackling was great and he covered the defenders well. His passing was accurate, no hollywood balls but thats not what he's there to do. Well taken goal to top it off. Wellens - 5.5 okay in the first half but poor in the second. Passing was okay but not as good as normal. Some good runs went unfound. King - 4 As much as I love him he was poor today. Never looked like scoring or even getting in a postion to score. Didnt think he won a header and was easily bullied off the ball. His passing and touch let him down on most occasions aswell. Gallagher - 5.5 Like Wellens, average. More poor deliveries than good ones but I thought his positioning and touch was okay. Yak - 6 I'm 'pro yak' so to speak but he had a poor game tonight. He ran down more balls, which is what everyone seemed to want but in turn had less movement. I would prefer lost causes went unchased if it meant more movement. I still believe he is one of, if not the only player that can create a chance from very little, but the delivery to him has to be good and it wasn't tonight. Theres not a lot he could of done about a ball being whacked at him, either. Kamara - 6.5 A bit predictable if anything and seemed to want to do too much on his own. Good control but got himself into more trouble than needed by dithering on the ball a little bit. Probably not helped by lack of movement around him. Subs: Vassell - 7 What we needed really. Added something new with his tricks but maybe a shot or two wouldn't go amiss. Would also like to see him beat his man more rather than running across the box. I think he plays better with Naughton behind him rather than Vitor becaue Naughton offers a bit more support and creativity. Howard - 6.5 Nothing really to note. Won a few headers and did what was asked of him really. Dyer - 5.5 Didn't really touch the ball. Never seems like creating something. Dissapointed really. We win tonight and we have an advantage over the other chasers. Nothings changed really except we only have 5 games left to play.
Alf Bentley Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale 5 - Tough shot but should've saved it Vitor 6.5 - Solid again, surprised at criticism here Bamba 8 - One of his best games Mee 8 - Quality interventions, fierce commitment PVA 7 - Good, needed movement for his crosses Oakley 8 - His best for a long time Wellens 5.5 - Ineffectual King 5 - Very ineffectual...massed defence didn't suit him, tbf Gallagher 6 - Crosses led nowhere, not all his fault Kamara 6.5 - Tried, but they closed him down well Yakubu 4 - Need sharpness if no movement Vassell 8 - Dangerous; should probably start at Reading Howard 7 - Should've come on earlier Dyer 4 - Did he touch the ball? Sven 5 - Credit for H/T sub, but other subs should've come on earlier & he should've got them to mix it up more instead of "doing an Arsenal" and trying to pass it round 10 men and into the net Palace 8 - Pains me to say it - and it wasn't pretty - but they'd done their homework: tight defence, close down Kamara & Yak, even had some threat on break; deserved their point, unfortumately Ref 8 - Second fair & competent ref in a row, IMHO
